So, has anyone made any comments about the fact that you're having a big wedding?

One of our best men keeps making comments, because he and his wife eloped and bought a house and thinks we should do the same. Not that it doesn't sound somewhat appealing, but its like, you did your thing and let us do ours, KWIM? He means well, but his wife is a BM and is less than helpful/interested and I think she's a little jealous that we're having the wedding.

i mean we've had a random person here or there saying, 'dont u wanna jus skip all the planning n go right to the HM?'

but everyone seems to be excited we're having a big wedding and CANT WAIT to comee!

My parents made a few comments at first because they couldn't believe we were inviting SO MANY people. As of right now we have 255 on Class A and 61 on Class B.

They've relaxed with the comments, but I expect to hear them again pretty soon.

my boss keeps saying to save my money and buy a house instead....but other than that no one is really saying anything about it.

so far, not really.

ETA: our wedding is not THAT big (175) and i really dont talk details with alot of ppl outside of LIW...so that is probably a big factor. lol

Not at all...although we are having a smaller wedding (our guarentee is 100). I think most people are excited because there hasn't been a wedding in my family in a looooong time and there won't be one for a looooong time after so people want to get down and boogie

No one has said any comments about that to us - we're not really having a HUGE wedding - about 100 people...

we actually get the opposite because we tell people we want and are having a small wedding.

i'm having a 14-16 person (not sure yet) bridal party and whenever i tell ppl this i get the same reaction 'oh my God, u should cut some ppl out! think of the costs!' sometimes i just make an 'oh well' face and let the topic slide.....but i really just wanna tell them to shut uppppp!

IMHO its none of anyone's business how big ur wedding and/or bridal party is....what's it to them? are they paying or something?

Some people make comments, but in a 'I wish I did this' kind of way. But you know they had an amazing time the day of. Anyway...my family expects it, loves these big events but thinks its ridiculous that they cost so much.
