First off, let me start by thanking Heather for being an Excellent BOTW and handing it off to me for this week... THANK YOU!
Ok, on to the QOTD for today:
When it comes to your dress, are you holding yourself back? How many of you wish you could do something really drastic and crazy, but are holding back because of tradition?
I tried on a dress recently that was really slinky and sexy, almost nightgown-ish and I couldn't believe how good it looked! There's no way I can wear it because it's a little too much: SUPER low cut, REALLY form fitting, etc., but my Mom keeps asking all these other stores if they have any slinky, 1940s era gowns, just so she can keep seeing me in them. She's such a nut, she knows I can't wear something like that!

I don't think I am holding myself back. I found this amazing dress that is exactly what I wanted and is traditional but 'me' at the same time!

My dress is all me. Its exactly what I wanted. When I was looking online and in mags...I kept loving Demetrios and dresses w/ pickups.
Well my dress is Demetrios and has pickups. Its perfect for me.

Nope, not holding back at all, my dress is stretch satin and I am busty and have a booty. So I am showing my true myself, I look the skin I am in.

The dress I got was the one I always imagined myself in. I did not hold back one bit even though it wasnt how much I wanted to spend on it. I cant wait to wear it again!

My dress is just what I wanted that i never knew i could pull off. For me I think it is crazy that I am wearing a strapless dress....never though I would ever look good in one. So alot of people will be surprised to see me in one.

i feel like my dress is totally me! i always wanted ball gown style with a form fitting bodice with lots of sparkle.
the one thing i could say is that if i was at the weight i wanted, i might consider getting a second dress is a mermaid really form fitting style for a little sexiness.

I havent brought my dress yet, but i will def choose something thats me, i tried on a few dresses at Demetrios Bridal in (Macy's) manhattan and the bridal attendant was suggesting a few dresses i might like and i told her these dresses are pretty but they are not 'me'. So i will not hold back if i see a dress i love, even if its not traditional.

nope, I'm not holding back. I knew the kind of elegant dress I wanted from the beginning and found it!
As for feeling 'sexy' for the wedding....I didn't want to get a dress that would do that....cause I want to save that for the wedding night

I don't think so. I just wish I wasn't so indecisive because when I bought my dress in March, I absolutely loved it, but as the months have gone on, I have seen other dresses that I LOVE too... It was the worst thing I could have done and I wish I didn't look at any others! Too late now though... lol.

I haven't gone for a dress yet but I'm hoping to stray away from tradition as much as my mom would want me in a big poofy gown. So hopefully the peer pressure won't get to me!!

Congrats on being BOTW Becca!!!!
I think maybe I would have liked something a little more modern but I was afraid of looking back 10, 20, 30 years from now and said ICK what was I thinking... I'm just not that brave....

mmm i think i know what ur talking about...i was torn btwn 2 gowns. 1 that everyone said was very sweet and elegant and *me*, and another that looked amazing, had more of a *wow* factor to it, and felt more like *me* ...to me, that is. everyone loved both, but in the end i ended up choosing the one that was a little different than everyone else would've chosen for me. i couldnt help it, i fell in love with the gown!
