QOTD 8/14/09

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

This summer I went to 3 weddings. I was surprised to see that each one had some kind of perfomance done by family, friends, or the bride and groom themselves. At the first wedding the bridal party preformed two dances. At the second one, the bride and groom performed a 'ball room' style dance in addition to their first dance. Finally, at the thrid wedding, the bride's father and sister each sang a song.

Are you planning on having any kind of performance at your wedding? If not, can you share any performances that you've seen

So far, we haven't planned anything for ours but I hope that we will take dance lessons so that we have a really nice first dance. I'm not sure if I would plan anything else but if I do I would make sure it doesn't interfere with partying time...I woud schedule it for when everyone is in their seats eating

Im hoping the four side of the family (both divorces and remarried) dont perform a show of Jerry Springer

We're taking dance lessons too.
We're leaving the rest of the entertainment up to the DJ - After all, that's what we're paying for!

The only wedding i've been too with a 'performance' was my sister's. One of her husband's (well ex-husband now) friends did a little rap...It was soooo funny...
At mine, we're having a friend of ours sing-not sure how many songs, one or two. It should be cool.

FH and I will have a choreographed first dance since our song is not slow.

I have always also thought about singing to FH...but the idea makes me a little nervous. I know I can stay in tune and carry a melody but I'm worried that nobody will want to hear me sing.

I went to a wedding this summer where the bride sang their wedding song to the FH. It was beautiful but neither my FH or I can carry a tune. We might do something funny with our first dance to really show our personalities but if you are not comfortable...don't do it.

Fh and i will take dance lessons too. I don't think it'll be anything choreographed though.

I'm gonna have a singer during the reception.

we're taking a dance lesson this Monday (on my bday ), FH really wants us to be able to do a valse to our song.

last yr my friend did a ballroom dance w/her DH as their 1st dance and it looked really good, esp the deep dip
dont like it for myself, cause I like the dance to be a bit more spontaneous looking, than choreographed
