~~QOTD 8/20~~

Good afternoon ladies! Happy Saturday!!

OK so today's question is all about the kiddies! I know it's been asked if you'll have them right away or wait so I want to know do you plan on being a stay at home mom or will you go back to work. Would you let FH be a stay at home dad or would you not trust him?

I would love to be a SAHM if money allows. FH has brought it up about him staying home and honestly I would feel like I was missing out, but then again if he went back to work he would miss out. As of now he won't even hold our cat so I'm a little worried about how he'll be with kids. He wouldn't have anything to with our friends kids until they are at least two (afraid he'll break them or something) but everyone says when they are you're own he'll be different. We shall see.

I will have no choice but to stay at work....nyc doe doesnt give you much of a maternity leave and we have benefits through the city bc FH's job has $$$ benefits. FH will not be a stay at home dad because he feels thats ridic . I also think my kid would get soooooooo spoiled bc FH is a hardcore pushover.

In a perfect world, I'll have my kids at the end of the school year so that I can take my leave and have all summer with them, but I can't count on that. Maternity leave at my district sucks, and I don't think we can afford to go with out my salary, so most likely I will be returning to work as much as I would love to be a stay at home mom.

I would love to be a stay at home mom but in this economy I don't see that happening. FH teases he'll stay home but I don't think he would have the patience. That is the one thing that worries me about having kids who I would leave them with.

We may be moving out of state specifically for this reason. FH and I don't want to work to pay a babysitter/daycare.

But we may be able to swing it if I stay out of the classroom and just continue to do home services. I can make my own schedule and work part time. We'll see!

I think I will be going back to work, but FH and I have talked about him staying home for a while. He is currently a music teacher in the NYCDOE, but he also teaches privately and gigs at night, so he might be able to be with the kids during the day and then still work at night. I am also a teacher, but we would need my job for benefits.

I am a teacher and work 10 months out of the year, fiance is a nurse and works 3 days a week. It would be silly for one of us to give up our salaries when we are home a lot. It may take some adjustment of our schedules but I think we need to keep both our jobs. I think he has more of a maternal gene anyway!

I would love to be a stay at home mom. Maybe work only part time. FH is great with kids so I am not worried about leaving him alone. I think we will be able to split our schedule when the time comes.
