QOTD 8/26/08

Good Morning Ladies!! It is way too early for me - these seminar's I have this week are going to be the death of me!!

So for today's question of the day...

Since we got engaged, FH has been my 'super groom' - he has been involved in every aspect of planning and loves it. We are disagreeing on one thing...(I think he's out of his mind on this one!) he believes that since I pick my dress and don't show him that he should be able to pick the tuxes and not show me!

How involved will you be in picking FH's attire for the wedding day? And why do you think it is that the bride's dress is a secret but the bride usually picks the grooms attire?

Ok, if I don't shower now I'm never making the 638 train!! Have a good morning sunshines

i guess it's bc men's attire doesn't matter as much, and since the groom and GM all tend to wear the same thing, the groom's outfit has an impact on the overall look of the BP, whereas the bridal gown is just for the bride.

Because the bride has a better fashion sense! But in all seriousness, it probably has to do with the tradition of not seeing the bride before the wedding, etc. etc.

FH is really involved and he wanted to be involved with the TUX stuff as well, since he'll be wearing it. But I still picked it out. I was like 'Here's the one I want, what do you think?' And he liked it too, so there was no real issue there.

FH wants me to pick out te eTuxes with him because he says im better at colors & visualizing how it will all look together.

I dont think its really not showing your dress. Back in the day when arranged marriages were made they werent allowed to see the bride at all until that day in fear of the groom not liking the appearance of the daughter. (what a bunch of c r a p!) So i guess since we no longer have arranged marriages, the only secret left is our dress!

I would agree with the bride having a better sense of fashion, I personally like everything to look nice and match and FH could careless. I dont think he would know what to pick out anyways so I'm glad hes not even making a fuse about me picking out teh tuxes

Have a great day June!!! You were in my dream last night

Well I think that we keep it a secret only bc its the ONLY secret left pretty much! I love to see his look when I come out wearing something new that he hasnt seen before... its soo much fun! I have been tempted to just show him my dress so many times but then I realize that the secret is much more intriguing then if he knew what my dress looked like!

As for the tuxes... well Anthony has great taste but I have better taste and he is aware of this fact.... so he knows that I get vito power on the tuxes. I do howevere, want to make sure that he gets his flare in there... I want the tux to reflect his style and to be 'him' ya know... so I will probably keep my mouth shut and let him have fun. But I will be there overseeing the operation lol

By the way... when should we do this? How far in advance?

Fh wants to pick his own Tux. That's fine with me, but I really hope I like it.

FH says the same thing about the tuxes! Soooo not happening. haha

I guess I'll probably let him pick what he wants but I get the right to veto.

FH actually wants me to go with him - just me and him to pick out the Tuxes. He's Mr. GQ so I trust him to do it himself and even if he didn't want to show me I actually think its cute. However, he wants to bounce different ideas off of me b/c he feels his friends won't understand

FH wants to pick the tuxes but he is color blind so if I let him the guys will be wearing powder blues ones so I definitely will be there.

I already told FH that he and I will go before he goes with the boys. I will be helping him pick it out, especially since we are leaning towards brown tuxs. Im not sure how these are going to look and there is no way in h ell they will pick them out without me.

FH will definitely have a say in what he and his GMs wear. He has already showed some interest in picking out the tuxes. I will definitely be there to give my opinion so it won't be a secret like my dress is.

My FH is a typical man's man, and he wants nothing to do with wedding planning. He just gives me money and has the final say..or so he thinks

that made me laugh out loud. Im picking his clothes and its becuase im a complete control freak, besdies if i leave it up to him he will be wearing paint stained, hot top collected, torn clothes and work boots to the wedding. those are the clothes he lives in. ugh.

He is an involved groom to be too... but there is no way hes keeping something like that from me. i dont trust his fashion sense. lol

FH is very picky about clothes so i know even if he went alone he would do a good job BUT i am still going with him!

I didnt make up the superstition about not being able to show him my dress so he's just gonna have to deal with it

well first off my FH has become a groomzilla and is very active in all decision making for the wedding. it KILLS him that he cant see my dress but he has excellent fashion style, so I will let him pick out whatever he wants to wear and long as the groomsmen vests match the BP and we agree on the color for all.

I haven't thought too much about this. I think I can trust FH to pick out his tux. He has style.
