WHat was the best piece of advice that you've been given so far? For wedding planning, your new life together, the such.

QOTD! 9/23/14

To plan my wedding the way *we* want it and do what works for us. It was very hard for me to accept that it's impossible to please everybody but once I did it made the planning process a lot less stressful.

QOTD! 9/23/14

I received the best advice when I got engaged from 2 of my friends. They recommended a long engagement so that I could plan without much stress and avoid getting into debt. 2 years sounded like such a long time at first but honestly time has been flying & i'm soo happy I decided on a long engagement. By the time we get married we'll have enough money saved up to have the wedding of our dreams and plenty of extra money to move out and start a home/family of our own.

QOTD! 9/23/14

I received the best advice from a worker at Davis Vision when we went to pick up FH's glasses. We were talking about getting married, when and where it is etc. She said 'I’ve been married for over 37 years and I couldn’t tell you what kind of centerpieces I had. All that matters is the food and the music. And the groom.'

It's really helped when thinking about things that mattered most when all is said and done.

Which Davis Vision? FH has worked there since 99, and I did for a stint, that's how we met! And that's great advice, and so true.

Stop spending so much $$$$. Think of your wedding as an expensive car that you drive one time and then drive off a cliff.
