looking back at weddings of the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's... do you think there is any theme or trend that us 2010'ers are going to look back at in 10 years and wonder.. 'what the hell was i thinking?'

I cant think of anything from my own wedding...

Obviously the 70's & 80's even 90's.... produced some hideous dresses!!

Of course there is!!! I can tell you...the first wedding I was in was in 1974!! I was the flower girl. The guys were in brown tuxes with ruffled peach shirts...the girls were in peach gowns. I was in a yellow and orange floral monstrosity! The bride was in a HOODED gown!! At the time all of this was high fashion! For my first wedding in 1996 I wore a long sleeved lace gown...I look at it now and it's hideous! One day we will all look back and

My first dress in 1989 I also had a long lace sleeves but it also had those puff shoulders and a queen anne neckline ( it went up high in the back of the neck) I look back now and think OMG how horrible! I am sure that the dresses 20-30 years from now will be so different that when the brides then look back at ours they will think the same thing.

The only thing I could think of is possibly dress styles or cake design choices. Like when we see poofy sleves from the 80's or those cakes that had bridges connecting them together form the 80's we gag, lol.

maybe they will think all the 'bling' is wack

Hmmm I think we kept it pretty classic and timeless. I can't imagine anything I'd cringe at later on. Maybe the fact that the guys wore sneakers? But I loved that!

I hate to say it - but SOME dresses with tons of pick-ups remind me of the 80s big sleeves. . . . I have not seen one on the boards but I did see them in the bridal salons

definitely some of the crazy wedding dresses with tons of pickups and frilly skirts or weird corset designs all over..I think in 10-15 years people will look at those dresses and think 'what the heck was she thinking?'..Hence why I didn't buy into any of the designer labels that are so popular now - just a basic simple Davids Bridal gown with no pickups and a straight long train in the back.

Everyone probably thought their BM dresses and their tuxes were 'classic' looking - apparently not.

haha, yup.

Trust me, the whole tux with the 'high-cut vest and long tie matching the color of the bridesmaid dress' will look very dated.

i dont know, in the future people may look back at my dress and not have nice comments...but it showed off my figure ( a figure im not sure i will have in 30 years) and i looked good - so i dont care! that was the point of me getting a fitted dress!

Everything eventually looks dated...

I think that we are in a very matchy matchy time period, so I think that will go.

totally crashing this one ...

What are you girls talking about?? My dress has poofy sleeves and my cakes are connected with a bride and groom on top and all my brides maids down the stairs!! LOL! J/K...

Probably the BM will be the thing that I cringe at! I LOVE them now ... but like someone else said eventually everything becomes outdated ... or if any of you looked at some elses previous post with the chicken lady.... I think we will all agree that she will be regreting A LOT of things (although I must admit it all looks pretty fun and light hearted for now!)

Maybe, but not everything looks dated in 10 years.

Honestly, I think TTD shoots will probably be looked at as something strange.
