As my last QOTD i wanted to sat that as a OOT bride LIW has been a god send for me. I have gotten SO many great ideas and has made looking for vendors a LOT easier.

How much has LIW helped in your wedding planning or impacted your decisions regarding vendors and all the other aspects of your wedding?

this site has helped me in many ways. I've made lots of friends too. I really haven't really gone ...for or against someones vendor opinion, i really need to trust my own gut
I have to say tho, sometimes i get nervous when girls get things done, and i haven't even started thinking about that....

LIW has greatly impacted decisions re vendors -- especially photographers. The first photographer we met we really liked, and then we came on LIW and saw a few brides who used him. And they all gave him great reviews, but we didn't like the photos we saw nothing photojournalistic, everything so very very posed) that we kept looking. At the end of the process, we were down to 2 photographers, so we came on LIW and researched them both, and the photos for one were so far superior (plus the other had a fair amount of 'iffy' reviews) that we were able to make up our minds easily!
It also helped with the DJ. I did some research here first on DJ prices, and the first DJ we went to gave us a really high quote (2500 with NO extras!), and if I hadn't done my research here first, I may have just signed with them thinking it was reasonable. Now for 2000 i have a DJ, MC, a CH pianist, and ceremony music...

i did so much searching and reading of reviews and other informative threads. it totally influenced my vendor choices.

in regards to vendors, if it wasnt for LIW not sure if i would've found most of them so i am VERy happy that LIW helped me in this way. I have to say that most ppl in my neighborhood all stick to this one photographer, its like they dont even search, they know once they get engaged that 'OMG THEY HAVE TO HAVE HIM' although i had no plans to use him regardless, i heard he is so stuck up and even rude to guests and i heard he charges $10k and its not even my style. But i saw my photographer on here, and not sure if i would've seen her otherwise. Before I came on LIW i went to JT showcases so probably would've booked one of the house vendors, i was planning to.
DJ i would've booked regardless. But video also got bc of LIW, hair and make up also bc of LIW and i was very happy with them so it was a good thing. Florist though would've booked regardless if i was on LIW or not.
