Do you think Congress should approve the $700 bailout plan today?

Honestly, I don't know. I am too scared of the alternative so if BOTH parties think it is for the best - I just hope they are right!

I think a good way to put money into the economy is to give the $700 billion to the tax payers. Let us pay off our mortgages, car loans, debt, etc. Then we will be able to spend more and put more money back into the economy!

On LIF someone figured it out and it would come out to like $425 a person so not really helpful in the long run.

It sounds good in theory, I just dont think that banks and companies that got themselves into this mess should get a 'free pass' and let all the people they screwed (i.e. tax payers) have to pay for their mistakes. They should be held accountable for their actions.

Absoluetely agree. Something must be done. I think if it isn't we're headed not for a recession but a depression.

I understand that something needs to be done, but these companies and executives need to be held accountable for their actions, salaries and bonuses need to be capped, and the bailout plan needs to have all these provisions, or else this will all happen again in the future. Someone needs to protect the taxpayers

I totally agree with you there as well. There are def. provisions that should be made for that. I think the days of them being 'master's of the universe' are done.
