~QOTD 9/3/11~

Been browsing some DIY stuff, and that's my inspiration for today!

What are your ideas for your card box??

I'm thinking about doing a DIY cardbox. one of the ones where there's a stack of 3 boxes...I'm thinking of doing them in a yellow fabric, and adding some orange ribbon, perhaps some orange flowers and a touch of bling! Let's see if I can pull this off???

My mom is a very crafty person. She is 100% DIY!! so she is making mine. It's the 8 x10 pic frame card box.

I am having For The Modern Bride make mine. I love DIY but I'm ot sure I can pull off the card box

Ugh, I really need to start making this already! I'm gluing two punch bowls together to make a sphere then FH is cutting a slot out of one for the cards. Then I am hot gluing silk flowers over all of it so it looks like one of those flower balls.

I am the same way with DIY - I love how things come out but I am not very crafty so I am going to have one of FH uncle's make me the bird-house cardboxes and put our last name and wedding date on it.

I knew there was no way I could pull off a DIY so I found some really nice ones online until my dad offered to make mine for me. He's really handy and does stained glass pieces, and so I thought that would be a great way to have him contribute. I'm not that picky about something like this so I gave him no guidelines and told him to do whatever he wanted, i think he was really pleased that he gets to have something. I don't know what we'll do with it after though, I'm sure he's already thought of something.

You can rent them! I have seen some florists have them and I saw some at Bridal Elegance for rent too.

I love everybodys ideas. I am not sure what I am going to do for mine, but saw something on here that I like. Someone had a mailbox made for their card box. It is something you can use again!!

I think I'm going to go with a vintage style birdcage with navy and gold accents (maybe navy ribbon and gold sign with our date?) I also LOVE Lindsay's mailbox cardboxes, so that might be an option as well if she were willing

Wow that sounds amazing!! I can't wait to see it!

I'm going to at least attempt to make a 3 tier cardbox in purple and teal with some bling. If I fail miserably, then I'll purchase one!
