I would but it would be really hard. I am really close with my family and their opinions matter, but I'd hope that they saw how much I loved him and at least tried to see why I was in love with him.

My mom is super close with FH and it means soo much to me!! Plus all my brothers are really close to him too...my dad on the other hand, not so much..but its the type of person he is...

I was married before... and my family hated him and warned me not to marry him ... but I still did .... and the only thing I can say that came out good about the marriage is my son who is 8 now !!!!!!!! This time around... I could not be happier .... and my family loves him !!!!!!!!

of course I would marry him. My family would have to support me either way and if they didn't like him they would just have to get over it!

hard question.

if my family didnt like him, i honestly think it would be completly different i mean i love the same things that do.. well and more.

If they had valid reasons i would value thier opinion they have been right in every other relationship so far...

This is an interesting question.

I think that it's easy to answer this as a simple 'yes' and 'no,' because we all have a tendency to be idealistic. However, I feel like it's not that simple at all.

We would all like to think that even if our families didn't like our significant others that it would still be okay. In reality though, I think it is WAY harder than that. For most people, whether they are conscious of it or not, their family's opinions are quite important. Deep down inside you want them to like your SO and vice versa. It's really easy to ignore the issue if one side or the other doesn't like the other side, but eventually people have to deal with it.

I now many people whose families (even friends to some extent) did not like their partners and eventually it all came to a head and the couple broke up.

Hopefully, that won't happen to the majority; but for some, it is something that does need to be dealt with.
