~QOTD 9/4/11~

After all this talk about cardboxes it made me think about the next QOTD...

What is your theme (if you have one) and your color scheme? What made you decide on your scheme?

If you haven't decide, which ideas are you considering!

So, I basically went a route with my colors that is completely unexpected for me. My favorite color is green, and I felt like that was 'expected for me to do' I do love green orchids, but I didn't want to do the expected. So I decided that I should go with colors which match my personality - I'm a upbeat/bright cheery person, so I want colors which are going to be bright and stand out! I always loved the idea of bright yellow bridesmaid dresses, so I just wanted another color which would go well with them, so I decided on orange and yellow. As far as a theme goes, I decided to go with daisies. Not over the top daisy theme - I want other flowers too, but thought that for our STDs/invites and flowers I could incorporate them

Good question!

My theme/colors has really evolved since I first started planning, but I love what it has become. I always knew that my theme would be vintage in some way. And my first ideas for colors was grey for the BM dresses and ivory/pink/purple for the colors and accents. Well, I shared that with a few of my BM and they liked it, and thought it was me, but they also thought it was very pink (which is not me) and reminded them of spring. So now my theme has evolved in a 'Vintage Vineyard' theme, which I The dresses will dark grey, the flowers will be shades of deep purples and red (like wine colors), and I do love my wine! Table numbers will be on the bottles of wine on the table, short centerpieces will be in wineboxes, escort cards will be held up by wine corks, and there will be vintage signs and bird cages for the card box and wishes for the newlyweds. Here is a pic of my color inspiration!

Our theme is the Mets. We got engaged at citified and we ate both huge Mets fans. We are trying to get Mr Met to come to the reception

Our theme ad color scheme is New York Islanders(blue and Orange)

Its only fitting we felt.

our theme is vintage literature and lace. Since Justin is such the academic - and I am obsessed with all things vintage it worked out perfect.

Lavender is my favorite color - but to give it a slightly masculine edge we chose charcoal grey as a complimentary color.

We are incorporating lace into almost everything and I love it!

i don't have a theme really, but the colors i picked are plum and silver....i just like the color combo and thought it would look nice!

no real theme thought out yet but I love the fall and want to stick somewhere along the lines of that. I am thinking cranberry/burgendy dresses, not sure what accent color yet

We are doing a travel theme.
Colors are plum/chartrusse/black

I'm looking at the dark purple bridesmaid dresses with green and white flowers.

Love this question!

FH's favorite color is red and my favorite is yellow. But I was afraid it might look like McDonald's colors, so we added in black and white to make it more graphic. It is loosely based on the feel of Takashi Murakami paintings, whimsical and colorful with clean lines.

I am settled on vintage romantic, but I can't settle on an accent color! I think shades of purple and pink. My girls will wear black and I want to ask all the moms to wear a shade of purple!

I don't have a theme but definitely want a romantic/elegant feel to the night.

I don't have any colors yet - doing black BM dresses so everything goes with that. We have a meeting with our florist in a few weeks so we'll go over colors then.

Our colors are navy blue and yellow. I love the way the two look together and they were my parents fave colors as well.

Our theme is kind of lovebird and rustic. We'll be having a guest tree for guests sign and a birdhouse cardbox.

My theme is fairytale with the colors purple and blue. Even though its fairytale I am adding all sorts of fantasy elements from all the geeky things I like.
