I realized last night i have too many bridal magazines so....

What do you feel the currently hot bridal trends are? Is Rustic Chic the theme to have? Photobooths a must?

At the same time I'd love to know...

What current trends do you hate, or are just plain tired of hearing about?

I have a ton of those magazines as well & they are great for ideas but.....I don't believe in trends & following them. I want my wedding to have a trend of its own & be a representation of FH & I. That's what makes it personal. Your wedding day is not a style setter it's your special day & all the elements in it should represent you, not the new trends in the wedding industry.

Of course weddings today are much different than they were years ago but incorporate things in your wedding becuase YOU like them, not becuase they are the new trend.
I am having a photobooth becuase it's symbolic to FH & myself as that was the first place we took a picture together (in a mall).

I am very careful of following a trend for the wedding because I know that a year from now, I will be sick of it. On the other hand, I read all the mags and blogs and look for ideas that I can incorporate in my own way

Wow - Apparently I got a bunch of anti-trenders.

I was going to say mismatched bridesmaid dresses are apparently popular right now (either different designs, different colors, or completely mismatched) - I'm so doing this just to make my girls happy with different dresses for different body types.

Rustic Chic seems to be the theme - so cute, but wouldn't go well with our choice of venue.

Vintage always makes me wonder, because I feel like vintage can mean so many different things to different people.

I want a spring-berryish red. That color is way out.. as in, I'm having a tough time finding it.

I think the trends are cool... it's nice seeing new ideas come to life in real weddings. I don't plan on following one in particular but i like choosing individual details from different themes and creating a whole new concept.

I've seen a lot of these lately:

Fall themes
'Rustic' with mason jars and nature elements
Baby pink and lace
Beach (always popular)
Photobooths
Colored shoes for the bride

Frankly i'm tired of the rustic theme and the beach theme. The rustic theme is cute but i feel like EVERYONE is doing it this year...and they all look the same. Beach themes are always the same too... blues, aquas, sand colors, cakes with marine elements, waterfront venues... it's played out. A nice idea but if you want to be unique its not a good way to go unless you really go all out and make sure that there are some surprising details.

In terms of colors, Purple has definitely reigned and as much as i don't want to follow that trend, a deep eggplant or plum goes so well with my venue and ideas that i really don't care.

Photobooths are totally a trend but lets be honest here... it's a really cool feature that both you and your guests can enjoy, it gives you more coverage of your wedding for your memories, and it's just plain fun! If you can afford it, who cares if its a trend... i know we are hoping to get one!

The biggest bridal trends I've noticed are the colored shoes with the white dress and every bridesmaid wearing their own style dress.

Rustic chic is really cute - the whole mason jar, wine bottles, chalk boards, and wildflowers. Very cute if you're doing it 100% but kind of odd in a reception hall. I went to a rustic wedding in a park in a valley in upstate NY - it was perfect.

I take trends with a grain of salt, knowing that some things will look silly in a few years, but every once in a while something stands out that I really love. i.e. I bought a statement necklace to go with my strapless lace down.

hands down my fave 'trend'!! but does not work at all for our venue either

candy bars and photobooths seem to be the big ones on here. i'm not doing either...mostly because i'm cheap

I'm not gonna lie, I can't stand the photobooth thing. It really isn't my taste.

I just like classic, and traditional.
