what is one thing that you had to compromise on your wedding wedding planning? something you are having but dont really want?? -- something you are not having but really want??--something you had to go cheaper on than you wanted??
So far, I had to compromised on favors. i wanted class maple leaf bottles w/ maple syrup in them. However, they were pretty expensive. Since my wonderful mom is paying, she wasnt really up for that...so we are going to use some DIY favors!!

I reeeaaallllyyyy want to get ready in a hotel suite close to the Church and RH. I live about 45 minutes to and hour from both and am getting married on a Friday night so traffic is going to be a Btch. My mother will not give in though and let me get ready anywhere but the home I grew up in. I can usually get her to cave, but she is really putting her foot down about this one... UGHHHH!!!!!

I guess it would be a photobooth and a cigar roller...At this point we cant spare any extra money for things we dont 100% need...

Something I don't really want: To buy the vases for our centerpiece, FH insists that his guests will just end up taking the centerpieces and then we would have to pay for them. My thing is, we're getting pretty tall centerpieces, so who's going to pick it up and walk out with it and where will they put it in their car.
Something I really want: Lighting
Something I had to go cheaper on: Nothing yet, but I think favors may also be my issue.

I really wanted a band but the good ones cost about half my budget so I let go of that...
Other than that I feel pretty good about all the other stuff!

the date, i would really prefer a summer/fall wedding. I am not a winter person, but due to FH's schedules the winter works for us, but people are complaining on the date i chose-so oh well

we went cheaper on the flowers just because i dont really care about them. i wouldnt necessarily say i compromised on the idea because i like the personal touch it adds but being that i hate football i guess its a compromise, but we are theming our tables and place cards to football. i like baseball better but FH is a die hard football fan so this made more sense something i want that im not getting would be..umm...probably just little things that instead of spening money on i will try and DIY it like menus, programs, cardbox...i'd rather buy it professionally made buts its cheaper to do it myself

same for me. would love to have a saturday-summer wedding, but we can't afford that. also i would love to have intelligent lighting and everything that goes with it, but also can't afford. and i would love to provide transportation for my guests but that is something we really can't afford and can't even do logistically.
there are no things that i dont want, i am planning and paying for it so i am having it just the way i want it. this is the only advantage to planning it urself by the way lol

we reallllllly wanted a band but decided we really didnt want to spend the money so we got a good dj instead of live elements. im not doubting my DJ choice, bc theyre great, i just always pictured a band. oooo well...
other than that, i think we're getting everything we want!

We really haven't compromised on anything. I guess the only thing would be the opposite of many responses here. FH and I actually wanted a DJ, but our parents talked us into getting a band. My compromise was that they had to be a band recommended from my RH, so I didn't have to pay for them to eat
Other than that, so far I'm getting everything I want

we really didn't have to compromise on anything yet. something im having and don't want is the vhour. don't see the need for it. especially being on a sunday and the next day is presidents day not everyone has off so i will be paying for people who might not be there. something im not having but really wanted would be a small wedding. but with fh side of teh family its really big. something i had to go cheaper on would be my flowers and my dress. flowers really don't mean that much to me so i didn't care how cheap there where as long as they were pretty. and my dress i didn't want to spend that much on just for one day.

i had to compromise with a date in April for FH. he loves the cherry blossoms at the botanical gardens so that why we are getting married in April.
i had to compromise with a friday wedding for my parents. although i see there point (why would we pay that much more for a saturday night) i would of preferred a saturday.
FH has to compromise with me to get married in church.
so i guess we are all compromising.

I am compromising on my gown and my BM gowns. I can't justify spending so much money on a dress I'll wear for one day. Also, I am trying to keep it cheaper for my BMs because I don't want them to have such a financial burden.

Hmm we haven't really gotten to the point of having to compromise MUCH yet. However, we did originally want October, but decided to do off seaon due to the huge price differences.

Probably the date.....I'm really grateful that my parents are paying but they told me X dollars, and if I picked October/November then I would have been way over budget....so we went with January to save some money and keep within their budget.

i really wanted a destination wedding but being that most of my family lives in the u.s in different states it will be too hard for all of them to arrange a trip to a certain destination
