Re: QOTD: Are you for or against Cell-Phone Jammers ???
In case of a true emergency most people can always be reached or found cell phones don't make a difference. Voicemail might but not a cell phone.
And during the hurricane, 9-11, and most true diasters they don't even work because there are too many people using them or the towers are damaged.
I think cell phones just lead to more Stress.
My husband isn't allowed to have a cell phone on him at work due to security and most cell phone conversations around here are monitered anyway by the military. He also doesn't have a work phone. But I know how to reach him in case of a true emergency.
I think the jammers are a great idea. But naturally everyone has different opinions of what an Emergency is. Maybe I'm wierd but my priority and is to always get somewhere safe ASAP and once I was safe and sound I would call and I feel the same way for my family also my parents don't even have cell phones but instead I have neighbors numbers in case I am worried and need someone to look for them. I think I learned not to rely on them when I always had car problems in the dead area on jericho turnpike. I actually learned a calling card is a thousand times more important.. lol
For babysitters when ever I watch children I always had written down what the parents were wearing prior to them leaving and I knew in most cases where they were going. If I needed to track them down it helped alot to know what they were wearing so a hostess could look for them especially since most PA systems only work in the waiting area.
And most of all I think there should be jammers in Public Restrooms! I hate being in a bathroom and hearing a phone ring and then hearing them answer. It just grosses me out. I think everyone can wait a minute until they are done.
