I got them delivered at work. They were here before I arrived (I was mailing our invitations!). When I walked into my office everyone was looking at me smiling. It's a nice feeling. Yes, I know they are WAY overpriced and all that jazz and I tell him every year no flowers but then I get them. And then I read the card and for the moment I forget about the commercialism, and the Valentine's Day hype and think about him just being head over heels about me.

Last year I received flowers at work from DH and I enjoyed it so much. I know they will flowers waiting for me until I get home. I am a flowers girl especially roses.

I agree that the price for flowers on v-day is INSANE. That's why my FH always gets them from proflowers.com and i've even taught him to look for coupons online before he orders them.

Yes flowers are pretty, but i'd be happy with just getting the homemade card he left for me today. To get someone flowers... doesn't really mean they put thought into it really. I like my FH to think outside of the box!!!

Love flowers. Hate spending a ton of moolah on them.

Got some at Shoprite on Saturday. 12.99/doz..now that's my idea of a good price for roses.

Next week they'll go back down to 7.99/doz.

I asked for chocolates. So far I got nada...

That doesn't help with the weight loss plan but they are so good with the bottle of champagne I bought!

after all my bitching this morning....

FH just told me that he ordered me flowers, but they haven't gotten here yet and apparently he has no way of tracking them...he is so mad.

poor guy.

leave it up to a flower delivery service to ruin someone's valentine's day

edited to add that yes, I do love getting flowers from FH at work....I understand that it costs a lot, but I always like to feel 'included' - even if it is for a overpriced, commercialized holiday

I'd say it depends, like right now we are really trying to save for the wedding so I would say don't waste the money, but other times it is a really nice touch and makes you feel special to get flowers at work

I agree. We are usually apart for Valentine's Day and he always sends me flowers. I love getting them at work...it always feels like a surprise and makes me feel special. But this year we agreed he would not because we are trying to save money and they are so expensive. We are going to wait and celebrate this weekend.

I have to admit, I was totally not expecting ANYTHING today, being that the big day is OMG – 4 days away.
BUT – I did blush and smile when I saw the card on the vase full of flowers at MY name on it J

I love flowers. I did not get any at work today but I am sure FH bought me flowers because he knows how much i love and appreciate them. I did get flowers at work once and people were coming up to me all day saying how great FH is...

I do think its very expensive to buy them for VDAY. FH always would send me flowers even though I told him not to. I told him not to this year, but I just got a call from a delivery guy saying he has flowers for me, but he can't find the building (i work for a university)

I'd love it if FH sent me flowers at work, but we work for the same company and the last time he did that it started a lot of crap so he prob won't do it again while we're both still here.

Tho it isn't about the flowers or gifts for me, I just want to be with him!

I didn't get flowers, but I specifically told FH not to. In answer to the question though - both - they're nice, but on this day they are a waste of money. He brought me the most gorgeous bo-k two weeks ago for our dating anniversary, and they are still alive and pretty at home.

I know he loves me, and I don't need flowers delivered to the office for him to show it. (although, when I have gotten flowers from him at work - HE is the delivery guy, and to me what's special is the unexpected visit from him)
