For those of you on a budget....or not on one for that matter.....is there anything that you plan on leaving out of your wedding that would traditionally be purchased or done?? Does it seem to be bothering others?
I'm not having limos... I don't want to pay for them for my BP because they are all local enough and if they want to drink they can block a room in the hotel and take the trolley thinngy.....so far...they dont have a problem with this.
I'm also considering not doing the garter toss....I'm not sure how many single women will even be there.....many people are looking forward to it though so I'm not sure.....

I'm not having limos either.
It saves money but that's not the main reason.
My ceremony is at the RH and my whole bridal party is local except for some of the guys (who could care less about a limo) so it would be pointless.
I may still rent a car (like an old fashioned one) to drive FH and I to the hotel at the end of the night.
Also I'm doing my own makeup - I've never had anyone do my makeup as well as I can. I have even done makeup for my friends before big occasions.
I was even offered $$ to do a bridal party from a wedding.
I work at a bank LOL I don't do this professionally I just enjoy doing it and experimenting.
edited for my horrendous spelling.

hmmm i'm not sure if I'm planning on leaving things out, but in order to get things that I want, I plan on doing a lot of DIYs which is one reason why I'm glad we have 2 yrs!

Oh I'm not doing the garter toss either.
I've actually been to weddings where women won't get up for the bouquet toss because they are worried about being humiliated a the garter toss. and I REALLY want the bouquet toss.

I'm cutting out flower centerpieces. I dont like flowers to begin with but they are so expensive and personally I think floating candles on mirrors, provide a more romantic setting.
We're also not going nuts on the extras, like there wont be any extra linens, I'm not going fancy with my invitations because people just throw them out anyway. So I can still have them really cheap but really really nice looking. (I worked in Michaels since Jr. Highschool, I'm an expert on dolling things up. lol. ) Also I'm not doing give aways with the Dj's because my guests are over the age of 16, (with the exception of my Flowergirl and Ringbearer.) so they can just deal with the cool engraved martini glasses. Oh and I'm having my ceremony at the hall.
Thats about as many corners as I think i'm cutting. Fh and I are paying for this by ourselves and his last divorce wiped his account dry so we're working with whatever the ex left him.

The only thing I can really think of is the Bouquet and garter toss. It's not really a $$ issue, we just don't want to do it. No one's really said anything negative about the fact that we won't have one.

I am not really sure yet. I like the idea of candle centerpeices as oppsed to floral centerpieces. I always found that to be romantic.
I know we are not having children at our wedding except for those in the BP if their parents want. We are doing this for several reasons and I know some family members are not thrilled with this but there are a few reasons for this. For our EParty though, children will be invited.

Ooooh, can I hire you to do mine! lol
I don't think I'm leaving anything traditional out, mostly because of FH. I'd rather not listen to him whine. I'd rather not have video. I'd rather not have a limo for anyone except myself and FH.
I hope FH wins lotto though, cause he won't let me cut anything!

Im not doing favors. Personally, I dont think they're a big deal. A majority of time, people end up throwing them away. Why should I spend hundreds of dollars on something that people are going to throw away?
Im going super cheap on the invitations also.

I'm not doing the bouquet or garter toss. Also, I am most likely going to borrow my card box from my SIL. Can't think of anything else.

Oh yeah, I'm not doing favors either. I'm spending over $140 per person for their dinner then giving them a cheap $2 gift that they'll probably throw out? I don't think so. I've seen a lot of cute favors that I'd be happy to receive but I have never seen anything that I personally wanted. Don't get me wrong, I like getting favors but I've probably thrown about half of them I received in the garbage.
ALso, I'm not doing DJ giveaways. I did bead necklaces and sunglasses for my sweet16 - I'm not going to do it for my wedding, for the same reason I'm not doing favors.

Yea, Im not doing the DJ giveaways either. I think that's so stupid and it's not worth the extra money.

Im going to be doing as much DIY as possible. I plan on making my own std and invites were having the eparty in FIL's backyard and the centerpieces I also found at michaels for $4!! cant beat that!!! I dont think were going to do give aways either and were just getting limos from our houses to ceremony to RH so prob all in all about 2-3 hours should cut back on cost.

I'm not doing the garter thing either. Main reason is the time. I'd rather be dancing the night away. Also I am doing the invites myself through like MIchaels and stuff. People through them out and its just not important to me. Don't get me wrong my cousin had amazing ones. but they ended up in the garbage!
I like the high candles with some individual flowers in vases. Maybe do that with high center pieces every other? Not sure on that though

I think i'm going to skimp a bit on flowers...our wedding is in the winter and i wanna go for more of candles anyways with some flowers but not too much. dont think it'll bother anyone hhe
