First I just want to thank Stephanie for choosing me as your Bride of the Week!..I try to post as often as I can and be helpful, but I really didn't expect to be chosen. Not going to lie, my family & FH laughed at me when I told them but that's ok..they all don't understand what goes on in this insane world of liweddings!
Ok so as you will all learn I am nocturnal haha..I am always up really late so I will most likely post questions around mid-night because I won't be home until 8 tomorrow night & I'd rather them all be up in the morning

FIRST QUESTION:
Whether we all want to admit it or not, I think we have a vision of how our proposal would be. Did it meet your expectations? or were you disappointed? Also did you have any idea that you were getting engaged or was it a total surprise?

I had a feeling when he was taking me away for the weekend that it COULD happen. And I went to get a manicure with my best friend the day before we left and I was joking with her 'What color would look good in photos in case I get engaged tomorrow' lol. but when I brought it up that everyone kept saying we were getting engaged this weekend, he played it off REALLY well, telling me I'm really sorry babe, you know I'm still saving money, I want the ring perfect and I want the proposal to be amazing and all of that is expensive.. so in the moment he did it, I was super shocked because he totally psyched me out.. I was so prepared to be disappointed! And I was mad at myself for having those expectations because he was still taking me away on a beautiful weekend even if he didn't ask me and I was upset that I might have placed this cloud if disappointment over such a beautiful amazing gesture..
And it was better than I could have expected... I never expected to have that breathless moment of sheer joy, there's no other way to explain it. I always thought he'd say a little more than 'I love you, will you marry me?' but he said he was SO nervous, so I understand that. He was on one knee, the sun was setting outside the French doors at Oheka castle and we were waiting for the apps from our private dinner to come... really, I couldn't have asked for more. Just thinking about it makes me realize again and again how much I love that guy

Honestly, I always had this big dream of it being at the Christmas time, maybe at Rockefeller Center, or even in Disney World infront of the castle. We were in Florida last December & I couldn't understand why we didn't go to Disney since we had never gone ar Christmas time...little did I know he had bought a ring that's why! Now FH has no money saved so I didn't expect it until this year maybe.
Well Christmas Day he did it! Infront of all our family. Actually he had hid niece give me a box. When I took the top off it had an ornament in it with our names & from this day forward marry me??..there he was on his knee with the ring! I think he mumbled something about from the first day he saw me..haha but he was a nervous wreck! Can I just say, this was more meaningful than being any of those other places I thought I wanted. He knows how I love pictures, so he made sure we'd have them & also his sister took a video! He later told me that he thought about doing it at Disney but he knows how close I am to my family & he wanted them there. Even though I thought I wanted it a certain way, I couldn't be happier with the way he did it & how soon it was too!

i never really had a picture of how he would ask me... we got engaged in December and he had graduated college the may before but was still job searching.... so i had no clue...
in the back of my mind as it got closer his mom and sister insisted on getting our nails done and my mom was acting a little weird so i thought maybe.... but dismissed it cause i figured he would wait till he got the job he wanted....
Ive been asking him for years to take me on a horse and buggy ride during Christmas and we never got around to it... we went to see the tree like we always do and went to dinner and then we went on a horse and buggy ride through central park.... we had a big warm blanket on us and he was holding my hand and started to kiss me... under the blanket i felt him slip the ring onto my finger and then he got on his knee... it was absolutely perfect i couldn't have asked for anything better!!!!

I had a feeling it was coming soon. We talked about it a lot.
As far as what I had envisioned, I don't think I really had anything in mind, just thought it would be something creative, which orginally it was going to be. FH and I had gone sky diving a few years ago and FH original plan was to take me sky diving again for my birthday and then as soon as I landed he was going to get down on one knee and have the whole thing recorded. Somehow, or so he thought, he found out I was on to him (which I wasn't... people just like to talk and ruin things for people ::cough cough:: my a$$hole cousin ::cough cough::) so FH decided to ask me at our house, which I honestly thought was sweeter. Granted he had pissed me off the entire day prior to popping the question to the point I was bitching at him non-stop right up until the point he opened the box, it was still sweet lol. I had always told him that I thought the way my brother propsed to my SIL was funny because he purposely pissed her off and was dragging her all over the place to go random things that day when she really didn't want to, and at her most aggrivated, he popped thhe question and she was in total shock. That's about the same way ours went haha.

I kinda new mine was coming because I picked out the ring at the beginning of our cruise. i just didnt know when he FH was going to propose. When he did do it, I wasnt that surprised. I was excited but not as excited as I thought I would be. I kinda wanted my proposal to be a big thing. I wanted a lot of people around us, letting everyone know that we were going to take the step of our lives together. But what made it special was that FH did it his own way, how he felt comfortable. And in the end, I wouldnt have asked for it any other way!

When FH first started dating our sick obsession with the Yankees was always a topic of convo - when we started to get serious I said that I would LOVE to get engaged at the stadium. I never thought it would happen - then they got the new stadium and I figured everyone and their mother would want to do the same thing during the first season there so it would be really impossible.
He played it off well - he had the ring for a while and kept asking stupid questions to get under my skin like 'what kind of setting do you like?' stuff that he should have known already.
He went through A LOT to get it all planned out but he really made my dreams come true. I will NEVER forget that feeling of seeing my name on the jumbotron for all to see and the whole place just cheering. Then the Yankees winning the game (vs. The Red Sox) and then winning the World Series this year!!! Honestly - it couldn't have been any better!!!
A friend of mine did have a feeling it was going to happen - so when I called and told her she said 'I knew it' LOL

I don't really know how I expected it to engaged but I know I never imagined the moment to be as amazing and just completely full of joy as it was.
We got engaged at a pumpkin patch!! He was so adorable and I was totally surprised!! We had discussed it and I knew that it was coming but I thought maybe early next year.
We were with some of my family and he said he was going to give it to my niece to give to me but it had rained the day before and he was afraid she would drop it. He asked me to help him bring the pumpkins to the car and when and we got there, I turned around and there was the ring. He couldnt have done it better!! Looking back though, I realized little ways that he was acting that I maybe should have picked it up but I am glad I didn't because the surprise was awesome

my proposal was nothing like i have ever planned for or even imagined...not to say that it wasn't the best day of my life because it truly was..I was completely surprised to the point where i had on a t-shirt and abercrombie sweatpants! Future hubby proposed to me in our living room of our first apartment we bought and live in at the time. It was completely out of nowhere ..i later found out that the doorman of our building messed up FH original plans because FH had my proposal framed (everything he wanted to say me..so i would have it forever) and it was delivered to our building and the doorman kinda messed up me seeing the package delivered ..but long story short..i was completely surprised .shocked..but im soo happy that i NEVER had a clue

I really had no clue I was hoping and waiting for a while. We were on a cruise and the night b4 he did it was the formal nite and I thought for sure if he was going to do it on the cruise it would happen then so I asked him if I should wear a watch and he was like no and dont wear your ring either I always wore a fashion ring on my middle finger so I was so excited trying to feel his pocketsfor the box and then nothing happened. I was so mad and upset but then the next day we actually started fighting about it. He knew all the right buttons to aggrivate me and boy did he... then later that nite he asked me!!! the only thing I would change would be him asking me sooner we were together for almost 5 years and I kinda wanted to be married already.

It was a surprise..I actually thought we were not going to get engaged until this year
I always said I wanted my proposal to be romantic..that was it
IT WAS..on the beach, in the snow and total surprise = Amazing proposal

I knew that the proposal was coming. FH already knew what kind of ring I wanted and we were going to be going on a cruise....so I kind of had a hunch it was going to happen on vacation. I didn't really have any sort of expectations for the proposal except I thought that FH would surprise me when I least expected it....which he did!!!

I knew it was comign because we looked at rings alllll the time....but i figured it was going to be over the summer when we were on the beach in France or something....instead he did it here on the private beach we like to walk....it was amazing and i wouldnt change it for anything

i knew it was coming since we went to look at rings a few months prior. Even though at the time we went to pick out the setting(March), he told me that I'd have to wait allllll year to see the ring again. We went away for a few days to Montauk and I had a feeling that it was going to be the night. In HS we would always talk about like how we'd like to get engaged and I told him that I wanted him to ask me on the beach. So, a few years later, that's exactly what happened! I asked him if he remembered having that conversation and he didn't, so I guess we were just thinking the same thing or I just got lucky lol It was the place I always hoped for, but I think it was even better than I ever imagined!

I knew we were getting engaged since I showed him what rings i liked within the price range i was given. I always thought he would ask me at a yankee game or in the city and never on a holiday. But instead he asked me in my bedroom on Christmas Day. It was cute and no matter if you know or not its still a surprise when they do finally ask oyu. I thought it was very sweet because he started to get nervous about his initial intent of asking me in front of my family. Its FH how could I be disappointed with how he asked me becasue he did it on his one time the way he wanted it.

I thought it was going to happen when we went to D.R. in May because he kept telling me how he wanted to walk on the beach as the sun came up. NEVER HAPPENED. I also had a feeling it that it was going to happen around Christmas. My FI knows I'm very nosy and always trying to figure stuff out....soooo
I had come home for the weekend from school. He came to my parents house and was really in a good mood. I was stressed and miserable from school and his good mood was really irritating me. He ended up leaving and going back home. I ended up falling asleep that night on my parents couch. Apparently, my mom let him in the house at 5am. while I was sleeping. He woke me up at 5am with strawberries and champagne, made me two cards and THE RING. I was so unconscious. I thought I was dreaming. I kept poking him. It was definitely up to my expectations. I think that was the only way he could have really suprised me- UNCONSCIOUS. lol.
ETA-My father almost blew it too. He congratulated me when I came home from school. But, my mom covered up and said 'her birthday is next weekend, not this weekend.' Good catch on my moms part!

Well, I honestly can say that FH went above my expectations in proposing to me. He made sure that my family was included in the whole process. He surprised me when I proposed. I did know that he was going to ask me since he wanted me to pick out my ering. Yet I had NO clue as to when he was going to ask. he waited for about 5 months before he asked me to marry him

I never really had an exact vision of how someone would propose to me...i think i thought it would always be on a beach though...
FH's proposal totally met my expectations and beyond! I was so surprised!! I had NO idea I was getting engaged and it WAS while we were at the beach on vacation in Puerto Vallarta! FH did it in our hotel room which he had decorated himself with balloons and candles..it was wayyy romantic!
