QOTD for St. Patrick's Day!!!

Good morning ladies!! Happy St. Patrick's Day to you all.

How are you celebrating St. Patty's Day?

Do you do anything special for this holiday?

What is your favorite holiday to celebrate with FH?

I usually try to wear green for St. Patty's Day but I'm not a big drinker so... I don't go out to bars or anything. Maybe a shamrock shake LOL.

My favorite holidays are 4th of July and Halloween. On 4th of July FH and I always BBQ with family or friends and neighbors and then so far we've always been at FH's house and his neighbors shoot off fireworks.

Halloween is definitely my absolute favorite... I take the kids I watch trick or treating with their family. FH went with us this year. It was like a practice run for when we have our own kids. We always prep for Halloween by watching scary movies every weekend in October and then we'll watch a few on actual-Halloween and have pizza.

It's low key but comfy ... and that's what FH and I are all about.

That's all. Enjoy your day, everyone.
<3 you all.

We don't really do anything on St. Patty's Day. Neither of us or Irish (ok, I am, just a teeny bit), so it's no big thing to us.

We love bbq holidays - Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, and of course, Christmas

We usually do the pub crawl by the Seaport, but I think it was this past weekend and the weather was terrible. Plus, we had plans already, namely seeing the best band in the world on SNL so I had bigger concerns.

On the holiday itself, we usually do go out and grab a drink, but FH has had a rough week so far at work asnd got home super late the past two nights, so I don't know if we'll do that this year. However, I work in the Theatre District/Times Square, which is right by Hell's Kitchen, full of good bars...so maybe I'll head over there after work with some friends. We'll see.

Favorite holidays....we love Halloween. It's always been a huge holiday in my family; my parents go all-out and throw a crazy party every year. It takes them over a month to decorate their house for their annual Halloween party.

I also love our birthdays. We're four days apart in the beginning of August, so we usually do something really, really fun together. I hated summer birthdays as a kid - because I couldn't celebrate in school - but now I loooooooove having my birthday in August!

We don't do much on St.Patty's day but we do hit the big Hampton Bays Parade every year. We are both Irish. He is 50% and I am 25% (I think, my grandmother was adopted) anyway.

We love celebrating Christmas we both get very into it all season and always have the best time with my family.

my FH is irish, I'm not. but i like to cook him the big corned beef dinner every year. the past few years we've gone out for drinks on st. patty's day, but this year he's working and my friend has class... so it looks like i'll be going to the gym instead lol.

our favorite holidays are christmas (i get like a little kid again) and the ones in the summer cause we love bbq's!

i currently don't really do anything for st. pats besides work LOL. I would say my favorite holiday w/ FH is christmas eve and christmas. we've split it up pretty well over the years between my family on xmas eve, his dad's family for xmas eve dessert, and his mom's family for xmas day.

Re: QOTD for St. Patrick's Day!!!

we started celebrating yesterday at my parents house. they made corned beef & cabbage for dinner.
today FH will make corned beef & cabbage at our apartment for us, FMIL & his aunt. FH is part Irish.

at work we have to wear green because my boss is Irish. work is also an easy day because my boss will be in a super good mood & will either not come in or leave early. FMIL (office manager) will be leaving work at 2 today which means I can totally do nothing this afternoon.

my favorite holiday to celebrate with FH is Thanksgiving. we have been hosting for the past 4 years & FH makes such delicious food.

1 & 2 - not much, we had corned beef and cabbage at Fh's parents last night, this is about all we do each year. FH is actuall DJ'ing at BU8 in the city (is normal sat night gig... extra night =extra $$!), so i will be home alone putting stamps on invitations!

3 - i LOVE christmas eve, this was this past one was the first time FH was here to spend christmas together. BUT we are both huge summer people so we love memorial day wknd, the 4th and labor day cause we like to go to the beach and/or one our parents pool and then host a BBQ and sit by the fire pit! but we do this practically every wknd in the summer, so i guess we don't need a holiday for it

Today is my sister's birthday!!!!!!! Normally I don't celebrate until the weekend because I'm old and tired during the week. This year I'll be going to the parade in RVC on Saturday.

My favorite holiday is the 4th of July and Christmas. We go away every year over the 4th weekend but I always get to see my fireworks!!! This year though we'll be in Ireland (how is that for patriotism?? HA!) And how could you not LOVE Christmas!?!?!?

Re: QOTD for St. Patrick's Day!!!

For St. Patty's Day - Usually will go to the bar, or the parade in the city and a barcrawl if it's on a weekend. If the holiday is on a weekday, then really don't do too much, other than having the typical corned beef and cabbage dinner with Irish Soda Bread (yum). Although, I am always at the Huntington St. Patty's Day parade

This year...since FH is away on business - I will be having the typical St. Pattys Day meal with my parents tonight...and I am actually really excited about it! (yeah, I am a dork)

As for our favorite holiday to celebrate together...since FH works on ships for a living and is away for at least 6 months a yr (not consecutively), we haven't actually spent too many holidays together.... We have surprisingly only spent Thanksgiving together every yr we have been together (and it was the day we got engaged), so I guess you could say that Thanksgiving is our favorite holiday! I just can't wait til he is home for Christmas because that is my favorite...we'll see when that happens. I also tend to like any holidays that involve BBQs (Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day)...so fun.
