TGIF ladies! Hope everyone had a better morning than I did. Today's question is inspired by what happened to me this morning.
I went to a doctors appointment and was on my way to work after it. I am coming off the highway and there is a red light. I am the third car in line and the light turns green. The car in the front is daydreaming so he finally goes. The light is still green and when I come out a car is racing down the road runs the red light and slams to brake. He slides into my side. Not too hard so no air bags or major damage.
Now most of you ladies might remember I got into a car accident in April, totaled my car and bought another one which put a huge dent in my budget. All I could think was not again this tool did not just fracking me! I just drove off since his car looked fine and so was mine besides the dent on the bottom of a door. Are you fracking kidding me! You plan a wedding and everything pops up to take money away from it.
Anyways I'm fine and my car will live to see another day.
What accidents have you come across in your life? Doesn't have to be a car it could be something as a tripping on your own feet. Anything recently that has put a dent in your wedding budget?

wow! So glad you are OK and the damage is minor. So frustrating and annoying, but you are fortunate.
Hmmm, no accident (knocking on wood!!) but my cat was diagnosed w Diabetes in April. So far, with all of the vet testing, insulin, needles, re-check appointments etc, I have spent about $1200 that would have been in savings otherwise.
Life tosses us lemons and we need to make lemonade.... with vodka!

I have no luck with cars....
My last car that i had for only 6 weeks. I was stopped ont he LIE service road and 4 cars hit me. My car was $100 away from being totaled.

So glad you are okay!!!
From 2000-2002 I totalled 3 different cars only 1 was my fault. Since then, I've been accident free!
We haven't had any sort of accidents that have affected our wedding savings, but various bumps in the road have caused us to dip into it. We're 14 months away and I have mini-panic attacks every time I look at the numbers. There isn't as much money in there as I would like to be...thank goodness for summer school pay! Hopefully that will help us out.

So far, luckily nothing financially. But I was in a car accident in December that has definitely impacted my life. I didn't have to end up paying anything because it was ruled 100% his fault so I got a new car, but I also got a really bad neck injury. By far the worst thing to come out of the accident has been my anxiety of driving. If I'm driving somewhere congested, or if someone is driving too close behind me, I have the worst anxiety. Ive actually had to pull over and basically have a panic attack before I start driving again, but luckily that hasn't happened in a while.
So now i really limit my vendors to suffolk county because its just not worth the anxiety i will get going there.

Been in one car accident. I was stopped at a light, and had to make a right turn off of a busy road. This was after I went and got a sandwich from a place, left realized they messed up my order and went back to fix it. As the light turned green, there was someone crossing in the cross walk so I had to wait. Another car tried to go around me (this was a 3 lane road) but someone was in the middle lane, so they couldn't and they smashed into my car instead.
The person in the cross walk didn't even stop as a witness. I was so pissed. I mean if I had turned my wheel all the way before turning, when the car hit me, I would have hit the person. He was lucky I was such a good driver!
Turns out the guy who hit me was driving his girlfriends brand new car. I doubt their relationship lasted after that. My car was a year old at that point. It was the Friday before memorial day, and the guys insurance company was refusing to pay for a rental car for me. He put $5000 into damage on my brand new car, and it wasn't drivable, and they weren't even going to give me something to drive!! I screamed at them, and convinced them otherwise. It took me going to 3 car rental places to find somewhere which actually had one available....what a pain!!
lol sorry about the rant, I'm still angry about this obviously

I have had 2 accidents with my current car between 2006-2008. Both times someone blew a stop sign, the first one wasn't terrible but annoying because I only had the car 2 weeks the 2nd one was pretty bad, but fortunately they were able to save my car and I still have it.
fortunately both happened pre-wedding planning and we haven't had any major issues come up to hurt our budget.

I've been in 2 car accidents. NOthing major that hurt me but both definently did damage to my car. Both were not my fault. I was hit. **knock on wood** I don't go thru that again b/c those minor accidents shook me up.
Only expenses that came up that have hurt my pockets and saving would have to be me being godmother to 2 girls and then having all my godchildren's bday back to back. I could have used that $$ towards the wedding but hopefully no more godchildren come up or any accidents that might cost $$

My ex husband left me in 35,000 debt!!!!!! Thats a huge dent. I even have a money judgement against him but never saw a penny.

I'm glad to hear that you are okay! and their are only minor damages.
FH and I got into a car accident about a month after we met. I was driving him from Maine (where I went to school) and Connecticut (where he was stationed). It was snowing really bad and I made sure I was driving slow to avoid black ice... I still hit some and fish tailed across 3 lanes into an ice bank. THANKFULLY no one else was involved and FH and I walked away with a banged up knee and a few bruises. If we were driving any faster it could of been really bad.

So glad to hear you are okay and dealing with frustration but that's all! I guess we get things thrown at us all the time but are more sensitive to it while planning a wedding.
Almost 4 weeks ago, on 4th of July I had a freak accident- slipped on water and dislocated my knee cap and sprained all the ligaments in my hip, thigh and groin. I am still not walking on my own- still on crutches but hopefully will only need 1 by the end of next week. Almost 5 months till my wedding, I had planned on working out at the gym. Things could have been so much worse, they were surprised I didn't break my leg or tear all the ligaments. God has been really good to me in that it could have been much worse and I am healing quickly.

When I was 18 I hydroplaned into a tree - spun out 4 times and slammed right into a giant oak. If it hadn't been for the bar between the passenger and drivers side door i would be dead. Its what caused me to move to NYC because i never wanted to drive again. Now here I am back in the suburbs almost 25 years old and I am still terrified to drive.

I got hit by a car last week the night i went to the bridal expo I was coming back from the bank on my bike and I was going straight and the guy was making a right and hit me and then ran off. I had to bring my bike into the shop because I needed a new tire. So 80 bucks later i now i have new back tire and I have three black and blues on my right leg I hope the photographer can block those out during my B pics.

lets see i had to replace the bumper on my car since it was hit it a parking lot, over the winter ice on ground
i had registered the car in my name, it was in my moms before
and at times hours have been cut at my second job means less pay and less tips
and no babysitting all summer (both girls are at sleep a way camp) i miss them sooo much cant wait to see them again
