How did your fiancé choose your engagement ring? Did you drop hints, did anyone help him or was he totally on his own?

P.S. Feel free to show off your ring! I will share mine later

We went together to the jeweler, and I got sized and he looked at what I liked etc. Then I left and he sat down with the owner and figured the details :)

We went looking months before. We went into a store in the mall on a whim one day and I asked him to pick what he thought I'd like. It was horrendous and not me at all. I felt like Carrie in sex and the city when Aidan picked out the 'bad ring' lol. So we went to a few different stores and I basically drilled it into his brain what I wanted. I sent pictures, pinned rings. Basically told him 'this is what I want. Learn it. Memorize it' lol! Turned out I picked out my ring without knowing it. When we went to this jeweler I loved this one and fh went back the next day and put a deposit down and picked a stone :) it's so pretty

We went to look just for fun and chose it together. Months later, after he moved away, he said he saw my same ring at the jeweler by him. I couldn't believe it because I had never heard of my designer or seen my ring anywhere else before. But he was right! It was meant to be! I was so impressed that he remembered exactly what it looked like. We sat down at that jeweler and went through every tray of rings and in the end were left with mine. So we knew that was it! He bought my ring in January and paid it off throughout the semester. Over the summer, he bought the diamond from the first place we went to and had it set. I love my ring so much, I still can't stop staring at it!!

When I showed FH what ring I liked he didn't like it lol so he said when the time was right he would pick it out himself. I was so nervous about it. A month later he proposed & I actually really love my ring. He did good! It's different from what I pictured myself with but I couldn't be happier

He knew I was a very simple person. I don't normally wear jewelry. He went with my sister in February to the jeweler she used for her engagement ring and wedding bands(Phillip Joseph Jewelers in Bellmore.) He liked them because they do everything in front of you (the diamond is an heirloom and he wanted to make sure it would stay in front of him). My sister had picked out one setting and he almost went with it, but the one I ended up with, he had picked out himself.

As mentioned, FH had a diamond already (his grandma's diamond from around WWII, which was passed to my FFIL and gave to my FMIL), which is awesome because buying a ring would've been really hard for him. Plus, the cut of the stone was the exact stone that I was looking for, before I even knew he had it.

I only told him I liked white gold and minimal setting. He stole a ring of mine that I wore once in a while that kind of fit, but he knew it was a little big too (lol).

I think it's perfect. It's small and I don't even realize I am wearing it :)

FH and I went to look at rings and see what style I liked and then about 9 months later he met up with my uncle (who works for a diamond company) and they designed my ring. My center stone is actually my grandma's so I love it even more!

I had no idea about anything he didn't even tell his parents. All I ever told my FH was that I wanted a black diamond and he had my ring custom made. He's very proud of his work he shows it off more than I do. LOL

I showed my FH a picture of an engagement ring while we were both in college a few years before we got engaged, as a 'hey remember this, one day you'll need a mental picture.' Well he definitely remembered and got it exactly how I wanted. It felt so special that he remembered something from so long ago and put his own little touches on it as well.

I had told FH what I wanted and showed him a couple pictures. He knew I didn't want anything too big and flashy because that is not my personality at all. I told him I wanted quality over quantity. I think he did a perfect job of picking something I would love!

I couldn't upload the pic here for some reason but there are pics in my album 'our engagement'.

Very pretty rings girls!! FH picked it out all on his own. I never once showed him any sort of picture of what I truly wanted. I did once show him a pic of some ridiculous billion dollar ring but that was it.

I definitely dropped hints. He's pretty clueless when it came to jewelery and I would have felt horrible if he would have given me a ring I didn't like. All I told him was pretty much what style setting I like and diamond shape and he did the rest all by himself, and did an amazing job. I'm still in awe of it

All of your rings are beautiful! Thanks for sharing! Here’s mine:

We discussed ring possibilities a few times – Sometimes he brought it up and sometimes I did. In the end, he made the decision based on our favorites.

My band was custom designed by a jeweler in Brightwaters called Gemaginations. They have been great and we will be doing back to them for our wedding rings. They resized my ring 3 separate times while I waited(at no additional cost)!

I love nature inspired and vintage jewelry and wanted something fairly simple that suited my personality. I think my ring captures all of that! The band resembles a tree branch and I love the setting.

I love everyone's rings. I flat out told FH I wanted a round stone with a halo. He picked out the stone/size/setting and did very well. There should be pictures in one of my albums!

Love everyone's rings! They are so pretty!

FH and I had looked at rings and tried on many different ones I liked. I had one that I really really liked and someone I knew got engaged before me with that exact ring. After that we went looking again for some other styles I might like and FH picked one out for me to try on. It was perfect! It made me so happy and he was so happy with it too. Because there were many other rings I've seen with him I didn't know which he would actually buy. I was so happy he went with this one it was the one I wanted and the fact that he picked it out was even more special.

gorgeous rings everyone! FH actually picked out the ring all by myself. I was so impressed that he knew what I would love even though we never discussed what kind of ring I wanted :)
