QOTD l 10/16/13
This week has been so crazy with work! I just got to check out your answers from yesterday. I'm ready for the weekend!Today I'd love a little love to get me through this horrible all day meeting I have with my boss -
Tell me about your proposal!
FH and I talked a lot about getting married when we got back together. We knew if we were getting back together its because we were both in it to win it. We spent so much time dating long distance that we were so excited to go anywhere that wasn't NY or DC. Our first non NY and DC trip was to PA with his family. He is such a kid and loved being in Hershey with his family too. We decided to make this a yearly event. So the second trip we took to PA FH proposed at the top of the 'Kiss Tower' over looking Hershey park all decked out for Christmas. I knew the proposal was coming but the plan of how he did it was cute and all him.
Is this day over yet!?

I had no idea he was going to propose, however that day he was acting weird. That day he left red roses in my car while I was in class. At night when I got home, there were rose petals all over our house and he got me a new laptop since mine was broken hehe he told me to open a power point presentation which was a summary of our pics together and the reasons why we should be together and at the end of the power point he went on his knees and proposed! Ahhh he also bought our fab sushi and wine. It was just perfect!

FH proposed at home, while we were having an argument. It was time to re-sign our lease and I kept telling him that I wouldn't do it unless we were engaged. I was trying to get him to discuss our future and he wouldn't say anything, little did I know he had the ring already. After listening to me ***** and moan for about an hour, he walked out of the bedroom handed me a box and got down on one knee...I almost died!!Sometimes I need to learn to keep my big mouth shut...but I have to say for me it was perfect!! I always had in my head that when he proposed I wanted him to say I want you to be my wife, not just will you marry me and that is exactly what he did and he had no idea i had that thought!! God I just love him

Re: QOTD l 10/16/13
We were planning our summer trip for 2012 to Cali when we found out our points could be used anywhere - we decided that the one vacation we would probably never be able to afford would be Hawaii so we went in August of 2012 and only had to pay for our airfare. When we first booked, the thought of getting engaged crossed my mind but FH came to me about 5 months before really upset and distraught because he had just started a new job and didn't have enough money saved up to buy me a ring and he just wanted to talk to me about it so I didn't go with any expectations. I was so excited to Hawaii with him it didn't even matter and the thought never crossed my mind again.
Once we got to the airport, I put my laptop in his backpack and apparently that's not allowed. All of his things got searched! I never saw anything but knew for sure at that point nothing was happening. We were eating dinner by the ocean in Maui when the server came to take our picture (FH had set it up) and he took the picture as FH got down on his knee. It was the best night ever and I love that there was a picture taken of it. Each time I look at it I remember exactly how I felt when it happened. I also love the fact that he made sure I was surprised.

Aww love your story! Our story goes, this past June 5th, I had an early class then had to rush off to lower Manhattan to pick up something for school. By the time I got back home I was exhausted. My sister didn't have plans that evening and decided to come by and keep him company while I was out. When I would get back we would all do something. (Wednesday is FH's day off). So none of that seemed out of the ordinary to me, since we are all close.
I'm home by his place, we are hanging out and my sister announces she wants to go out to get frozen yogurt at this new place not far from us. I didn't think that was weird to randomly say that, since she does have a big sweet tooth. When we got outside, we started to get in the car. As soon as I got in, I realized I forgot my camera (I was working on a photo project) so I ran in to get it. When I came back out, my sister announced she wanted to walk. I thought that was really weird considering we had just been sitting in the car a minute ago. 'I want to get some exercise, so I want to walk' She's into fitness so that wasn't the weird part. I def. thought she was acting a little weird but didn't think much of it. (Later I would find out she almost botched the plan by getting into the car without thinking, lol).
When we were halfway there, FH said the grade school he had been to was changing its name so he wanted to see if any changes were visible on the outside, since it was along the way. Sure, no problem. We stopped in front of the church that's next to the school. Even though it was dark out, there were a couple of young guys near the church area too. I was telling my sister why this specific area had meaning to us (while he was up ahead looking at the school...or so I thought.) I was pointing to the statue of Mary and telling her that FH used to take me here the first year before we officially started dating, and reassure me everything would work out. That's when I heard my name and I look and FH is looking at me all serious and I remember thinking 'NO WAY!' lol. In fact, I don't even remember what he said to me. I was that shocked. I think I kept saying 'Are you serious?'
I turned around to see where my sister had went....she was behind a tree filming! The group of guys that were out saw what was going on and congratulated us, lol. Turned out FH went to that very school with one of those guys!
I can't believe I didn't pick up on the weird signs that day. When they were 'hanging out' together earlier, he had really been picking up the ring and she went with him! I'm really surprised he managed to surprise me after 4 years of dating. I thought I would catch on to when it would happen. I thought he would propose this Christmas or something since it's his favorite time of the year. But either way, I'm glad it happened when it did

FH took me up to wine country and proposed at a gorgeous vineyard in Healdsburg, CA (near Napa) this past June 8th. I knew it would be this year, but I had no clue it was coming that soon, nevermind that weekend. Looking back there were a million reasons to suspect something, like how he freaked out when he realized the maid was going to clean the room while we were out, or the freaking jewelry box protruding from his pocket, but I apparently am not so quick on the uptake! The proposal was gorgeous and perfect, but the months leading up to it were NOT lol. He had a lot of fun screwing with me beforehand. He'd subtly bring up getting engaged/married so that I would start talking about it and then think I brought it up. I thought I was going totally nuts because it was all I could talk about. Meanwhile, he had the ring the whole time and was just 'poking the bear.' If I didn't love him I would hate him hahaha.

such a good topic for the day! I too need a little reminder of the love in my life because work is making me want to tear my hair out!So it was the day before our 3 year anniversary (tequilaversary) and he wanted us to go to the bar that we had first hung out at and have dinner then go home. We had looked at some rings together about a month before all this so i spent that friday at work telling all my coworkers that I thought I'd be getting engaged that weekend, not thinking at all that it was a possibility for that night. So we went out for dinner, had some drinks, then began to make our way to Jersey City. FH had said that he had driven up to Jersey city to go to work downtown that day instead of taking the train cause he was running late that morning. Again, didnt think anything weird from that since he's done that before. (though it turns out, he drove in that day cause he spent the morning in LI getting permission from my mom and dad). We're walking along the boardwalk area in jersey city and it begins to snow (awwww!). He says he wanted to stop and look at the pretty cityscape. Then he starts his little speech and asked me to marry him! I think the first words out of my mouth might have been 'I thought you were gonna do this tomorrow!!' So while we get into the car and begin our drive home, i notice he's driving the wrong way and going north instead of south. Turns out he booked a romantic weekend at the Crystal Springs resort. Despite knowing he was going to propose at somepoint, he totally surprised me with everything else. It is still to this day the happiest day of my life

My proposal was a complete surprise! FH and I were friends for a year and a half and then dated for less than a year when we got engaged. I should have known that day it was going to happen because he was acting so weird! We usually both have Thursdays off but he took Wednesday off that week and when I said I would switch my day off to be with him he said no don't because I have to take my dad to the doctor (in actuality he drove up to Westchester that day to pick up my ring!) That night he took me out to dinner and gave me a card saying how much he loved me. Then he drove me home but was very fidgety the whole way home (he was actually on his phone in the car looking on a map for a park or something to go but he couldn't find anything, he said the ring was literally burning a whole in his pocket and he had no plan). He got to my house and as I was complaining about something got down on one knee on the front porch and called my name. When I turned around he said the most lovely things that I no longer remember because I was completely in shock and asked me to marry him. I was shaking and of course said yes! It was the best moment of my life.Welcome New Vendors
