Ok so todays question of the day is are you trying to include your FMIL and mom in your wedding planning or would you just prefer to do it with your bridesmaids or even yourself?
I am including my 'mom' in every part of the wedding planning - its a lot of fun -my FMIL raised 4 boys so this really isnt her thing - which is fine.

Re: QOTD ( late but still the same day)
not really...after the whole flowers thing I am only telling her what we are doing...My mother is really involved though, my mom is surprisingly really helpful lately and has a bunch of great ideas (but who knows my taste better than my mother...)

My Mom is pretty involved. She is mostly involved with the RH and food since she is paying for that (with my Dad). She'll also be involved with my dress and invites b/c she is paying for that, too. She went to a few other vendor meetings with me and some showcases, but FH and I made final decisions on the vendors.

i am *trying* to include my mom. but she really doesnt seem to be into it. she had a simple wedding and planned it without her mom's help, so this is all foreign to her.
i feel bad/ackward trying to include FMIL if mom isnt involved first...
one step at a time.
to be honest, this is one part of the wedding process that has been most stressful and draining for me....trying to figure out my mom and get her involved...its been hard....

FMIL - after the Eparty incident I stay clear
My gma is like my mom, she has been involved especially with my dress. Just got into a tif with her this morning about it though. A. she naggs me that I need to order one already and B. she invited my other gma to come along on all future dress shopping trips - what is more unfun then shopping with one gma .... shopping with two! I told her that Id like to do some dress shopping with my friends.

My mom is very involved, but I am the first to get married so she has to be..LOL..Definitely including FMIL and FSIL also though they live OOS. I love them.
I send them regular email updates and we talk all the time.
Yesterday FMIL responded to an email, 'I wish I was there to share in this special time wih you.'

My mom is involved in EVERYTHING! I am so glad she is too.... although I get veto power.
I don't have a FMIL She passed away when FH was 13. It's weird for me when I read posts about how they are evil at times I actually get jealous sometimes. I will never experience the good and bad of having one.

My mom is included in the planning. Primarily, it's me and FH, but then my mom and MOH come below that. FMIL is not really involved in the planning. She is involved with us, but I think she knows her boundaries and when not to cross them.
mi planning everything myself. i give every1 updates but as far as booking vendors and what i want, its all up to me.

Re: QOTD ( late but still the same day)
My Mom has been really involved in everything...its been so nice planning with her and if we weren't already seriously close it'd definitely be bringing us closer.
As for FMIL...she lives in Ohio, so its not that easy to include her. When I was there the last time I asked if she wanted to see the pictures of our RH, my dress, etc...she didn't seem too interested. She said she wanted to see them, but not right at that moment, coz she was busy (she was clipping coupons...) so you can probably tell that she's not too interested in the details of our wedding

Re: QOTD ( late but still the same day)
My mom is DEF involved, even when i don't want her to be. But i guess that's just a mom being a mom.
I've tried to include FMIL but she kinda seems 'whatever' about it.
I'm ok with the way things are going. i wish FH was more involved though and not being 'whatever' about it. (He tells me last night, 'well, i guess i'm saying i don't really care about the particulars because wedding stuff was all I heard for about 2 years from my friends wives and it got annoying.)
I've only asked one BM so far. Everything will be pretty much done by the time i ask the rest of them in August.

Re: QOTD ( late but still the same day)
I am including them as much as I can.
I showed all of the brochures to my mom when FH and I were looking at halls.
When we went to put a deposit on the hall, we brought FIL's to look at it, then I brought my mother another time.
My mom is VERY involved with my gown....she's paying for it
FIL's will be very involved with the HM...they're paying for that
My mom and FMIL is coming with us for BM dress shopping tonight.
I have shown all of the parents the dvd of Code Bleu (our band).
I feel this is as much their experience as it is mine. I am my mother's only daughter (my sisters are my half-sisters from dad's first marriage) and FH is the first in his family to get married. So I want the parents to be involved and enjoy it as much as they can too.

my mom is very involved, she has gone to every appt that i have gone to and knows everything that is booked. I try to give FMIL updates when she asks for them, but she has some issues going on, so i would rather her focus on herself now

Re: QOTD ( late but still the same day)
my mom is totally involved (as far as one can be when living in a different country). me and her discuss everything in such excruciating details that sometimes I get sick of wedding talk
i try to involve FMIL as much as possible. she came with us to the tasting. also, she asks about the progress all the time. and she keeps bringing it up herself in terms of who she wants invited. but its not like she is very into it or anything. more in terms of being nice and respectful to me (IMO) but whatever that is, I am surprised and appreciate it

Re: QOTD ( late but still the same day)
I love my FMIL, I honestly don’t think I could have hand picked a better one. She has 2 boys, and loves doing girl things – we go for mani/pedi’s often. I have included my FMIL with most of the plans – we took my FH’s parents to see the RH And I took my FMIL dress shopping – she almost did a back flip when I asked her to come with me
EDIT: my mom is involved too!

Re: QOTD ( late but still the same day)
Our parents are hosting the wedding so we are including them. Our mom's came with us to visit the RH and my mom came with me to look at dresses. I took FMIL to visit a florist and to look at Indian wedding outfits. Didn't find any outfits with FMIL, so went with my mom, aunt, and cousin and found exactly what I wanted.

Re: QOTD ( late but still the same day)
I am doing my planning with my mom. I wil include FMIL when it comes time to print out the invtations and she will come to RH with us when we go over the menu, She does not drive and has no daughters so I need to take her to a store to buy her dress but thats really it.
