Ok so todays question of the day is are you trying to include your FMIL and mom in your wedding planning or would you just prefer to do it with your bridesmaids or even yourself?
I am including my 'mom' in every part of the wedding planning - its a lot of fun -my FMIL raised 4 boys so this really isnt her thing - which is fine.

My mom is very involved and I appreciate it immensely. She has a bit of experience since my two older sisters are married!
FMIL... no.

Re: QOTD ( late but still the same day)
My mother and sister will be very involved since my sister got married 2 years ago. It helps to be the second one since they already know what they're doing!
FMIL had a justice of the peace wedding and that was it. She jumps up and down whenever I show her what I've picked out or am thinking of. It's very nice. But, I don't think she'll be helping much. She has a bad back and hardly leaves home...IDK! Plus, we can't talk too much about weddings in front of FSIL b/c she's jealous that her baby brother is getting a house and married before her... She just needs time to get over the 'shock' and then she'll be good to help and be happy for us. (At least that's what everyone has told me! But in her defense, she hasn't been negative one bit about us getting engaged or anything!)
Wow that's long!

Re: QOTD ( late but still the same day)
I'm definitely including my mom as much as possible; she lives in Florida so it's a little difficult, though I know she's going to fly up here for dress shopping with me.
FMIL is too much of a nut for me to try to include her.
But as far as the planning goes, I'm kind of going it alone. I've always been like that though, so it doesn't surprise anyone. And while FH isn't concerned with flowers, he is concerned with the music, so selecting a DJ will be his project. We'll work together on selecting a photographer and invites. I'll take care of flowers and making our centerpieces.

Re: QOTD ( late but still the same day)
My mom is involved in every aspect of wedding planning. (my parents are paying for everything) I am the only girl so this is very important to my mom and me.
I am also including FMIL as much as possible, she comes to all vendors appts. the only time she didn't come with us was when I went dres shopping!

Re: QOTD ( late but still the same day)
My FMIL will be involved, I try to run things by her so she does not think that this is Christina's wedding day. She will be coming with me on Saturday dress shopping with my mom, and sis.

Re: QOTD ( late but still the same day)
I am involving my mom and different BMs for different things. My friend Tracy is great for coming up with ideas for some of the details and ways to be practical. My friend Jenn has been awesome with coming up with favor suggestions with the chocolates we want to do and so on....
I am leaving my FMIL out of it. Every time I talk to her it just seems as if she is putting my ideas down and doesn't agree with anything we're doing... she's say one thing is a waste of money but they not understand the price difference between a Saturday afternoon and night... no instead of letting her be critical I just send her emails AFTER we have booked something just to keep her in the loop. Although I think my last email MIGHT have just been a tad harsh... I haven't heard back from her in a few weeks!!!!!
Edited for spelling

Re: QOTD ( late but still the same day)
FH and I are doing it all outselves. My mom is no longer with us and his mom lives in FL...so no input there... but we know what we like anyway.

UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I'm pretty much doing it myself which is what I want. I am dragging my FH to meetings... but it's all gonna be my decision at the end of the day.
My parents were involved with the photographer only because they paid the deposit.
Mom in law will be involved with flowers... but we're not up to that yet.

Re: QOTD ( late but still the same day)
I try to incude FStepMIL in a lot of the decisions. I email her everything we do with pictures. Her daughter is getting married at the same place a couple months later but we are having totally different types of wedding. Her daughter is less DIY and plans less.

Re: QOTD ( late but still the same day)
i am a control freak so i'm doing it most on my own but i do tell my mom about a lot of it and i have brought her to florist appointments. also we went dress shopping together. she has some ideas as well. FMIL wants to come to my dress fittings, she was supposed to come dress shopping with me as well but something came up.

def having my mom come w/ me to my dress appt., and ask her opinion on other things (since i have most my vendors booked)... FMIL wants to come dress shopping too but i think i'm just gonna have her come to a fitting.

I'm the Oddball here, I include FMIL more than my mom because she's much more interested honestly.
