How often(if ever) do you and your FH fight about where you are going to live?

We had some big fights over it, fh wants to move to PA or out west and I wanna stay aroud the NY perimiters. I sadi jersey is as far as im going.

we used to fight about it but now it's pretty much up to me and where I want to take a job. FH said NY, Chicago or St. Louis (where we live now and where his family lives) is fine with him.

I'd love to go back to NY and live near my family but the COL is way better out here, and the lifestyle at a big law firm is better here too. however, salary is better in NY... we will see

we don't argue about it, but we def go back and forth on our plans. i'm not sure either of us are willing to make the kinds of sacrifices that are necessary to commit ourselves to a mortgage here, but as a teacher, it doesn't necessarily pay to leave either. we basically just talk about it and continue to pay our rent, which is equivalent to taxes & utilities for most houses.

As a teacher, it definitely does NOT pay to leave. It is ridiculous how little money teachers make outside of NY. My sister moved to NC, has a mansion sized house that is already paid for but makes so much less than she did here. Plus there's no union. She has one prep and has to eat with the kids! That means she only gets 40 minutes to herself all year. Plus she gets nothing to prepare for the new year... NYC teachers get over $220 a year for classroom supplies.
