We seem split up the holiday time pretty well. My family does most holiday stuff earlier in the day (like brunch or early lunch/dinner) whereas FH's family events are mostly at night time. So we go to my family stuff firstg and end the night with FH's family.

Re: ...* QOTD Monday * ..
This has been ridiculous for us!
We have been trading off Thanksgiving and Easter.
For Christmas, Christmas Eve, Mother's Day, Father's Day we run around like chickens with their heads cut off!
My FH's parents are young and their parent's familied still host events! Therefore, we have to go to his Mom's Dad's side, his Mom's Mom's side, his Dad's Dad's side.
It is really quite exhausting!
Somehow we make it work!

Re: ...* QOTD Monday * ..
for us it's easy x-mas eve with my fam (we only celebrate x-mas eve) x-mas day with his
thanksgiving - yearly rotation
all other holidays are simply 1st come 1st serve LOL who ever plans and invites us gets us LOL
my family aren't big on get together for holidays so by default we will spend it with his
stays easy until we have kids

This hasn't really been an issue for us. My parents are divorced and so are his. But luckily for us his parents both live OOS, so the only thing we've had to figure out is which side of my family I'll be seeing on which day. I'm thinking that if ever one of his parents move here, we'll just include them in our plans for the day. He has no other family here.

Ugh this is always so confusing...his rents always give him the guilt trip, so he travels more than me. We can't wait to buy and house and everyone can come to us!

FH and I got it down to a science at this point lol. We spend Thanksgiving with his family, Christmas with my family and Easter we'll alternate the years. Last year was with my family and this year was with his, etc. The other holidays, we'll work it out based on what is easier for us to do (we live 2hrs away from LI )

We actually dont want to split holidays and neither do our families. So for the first time, our families got together for Mother's Day yesterday. We are two small families so it worked out well. Everything went great! Our families got a long so incredibly well. I'm so excited. I hope this can work for the long term!

Splitting holidays really wont be a problem for us. His family lives in Vegas so we do every holiday w/ my family and every other Christmas w/ his family.
Very easy!!

Well, we definitely want to host a lot of holidays since we BOTH love to cook. We are hoping to host Thanksgiving this year. I have done it myself before for my family and it's so fun.
Otherwise, we have done this so far...alternative Thanksgiving/Easter..CHristmas Eve my family celebrates...Christmas day his family..Mother's day we went to both. my mom for lunch and his mom for dinner.

We usually switch every year. This year we did thankgiving and christmas at my house and christmas eve and easter at his.....then we go to the opposite for dessert next year we will switch and do thanksgiving w/ him easter w/ us.....
We invited both parents over our apartment, we ended up going downstairs to his parents bc it was bigger but at least we spent it w/ both inlaws
