We know that times are tough and money is tight! How are you and FH 'tightening your belt' in order to save for the biggest day of your lives? What sacrifices are you making/what guilty pleasures have you had to slow down with or put on hold due to saving?

We are cutting back on eating out at restaurants and packing lunches 4 times a week to save. Turns out its good for our wallets and our belts.

FH and I are cutting back on our shopping because we both love to do it! I'm not a shop-a-holic by any means but I do have my moments!
We also decided a couple of years back not to take long vacations in anticipating our expenses for the wedding. Although I miss the going away part, it's well worth it so that we can have everything we want for our special day!

We both quit smoking.. that saved us a lot! we also have cut back on going out to eat and on shopping.

We have both an espresso maker and a coffee maker (off our registry!) so I'm not supposed to go out for coffee anymore!
We also instituted date nights once a week when I'm home, but that doesn't always mean going out to eat. It may also include making nice dinners with candles and wine and watching a movie instead of going out. But since our date nights are once a week, we don't go out to eat on other nights.

Since we are buying a house and getting married at the same time we really had to tighten our belts. We use to go out to dinner or lunch alot but since we got engaged we have been cooking at home a lot more. We do treat ourself to going out at least one time a week.
We decided that this year we are not going to go on a big vacation! We won an overnight stay at Danfords so we are going to do that this summer. We also were given an overnight stay at the Indigo hotel in Riverhead so we are going to go to that in May.
We are splurging this weekend and going to Atlantic City. I told FH that there is no going crazy with gambling!

We have been saving money since the day we got engaged. We have a 'wedding fund' that we put the same amount of money into every week. We are big Yankees fans & have had to cut our spending with tickets. We spend alot more time eating at home then going out to eat
Things have changed but we are still able to live our lives. We actually have talked about continuing to save even after the wedding for a house. Since the amount we are saving per week is do-able, why not continue doing it!

We've definitely cut back with everything including eating out, vacations, etc. We're saving and putting money away each month into our wedding fund also.

We have officially moved in together!!! That has helped a lot b/c our rent bill is less b/c we are splitting one rent instead of paying 2 different rents. We are able to save up more money a month and we are going out to eat less than the usual. As of right now I can't say there is much of a difference in our lifestyles due to saving up for the wedding b/c even before wedding planning FH and I used to be huge savers. Only difference now is that we are now saving for our wedding budget and not soo much for our personal savings.

we aren't eating out as much. We also just go to friends houses instead of meeting them out somewhere. Can't afford $5 beers lol

We've been eating breakfast at home, packing our lunches, and I've been trying to be diligent about cooking every night. We splurge and eat out on the weekend sometimes, but it has helped. We decided we won't be going on any vacations this year either.

I'm sure that's not easy for you to do. FH used to chew tobacco and besides it being completely NASTY, it was SOOOOO expensive!

We try not to go out to eat as much, but FH is doing really well at work so at the moment we havent been cutting back as much as we probably should.
Once the 1 year mark hits though its crunch time!!

Ugh! I've never ever been on a tight budget but we are doing it! No more shoe shopping for me (Shoe addict) and no more tech gadgets for FH. We've also decided not to eat out too much and cook instead! It's been so hard but I must say we've bonded so much during the cooking together sessions!!! =) So worth it!

I cut back on shopping It's killing me since spring is here and want to get all the cute things!
Also, we have no vacations booked and we rarely go out to eat... it's working but I hate saving! lol
