I am assuming it isn't just one word answers? LOL
Partnership, friendship, romance, attraction, Unconditional love, trust and respect . Confidence in being yourself and knowing someone loves you and you love them inspite of their imperfections.

IMO marriage is unity for the sake of happiness, you marry someone because your happier with them then youve ever been and their happiness is as important to you as your own. If thats true you'll make the rest work.

To me, it's about starting on a journey and beginning a new life with someone you love and care deeply enormously. This is the person you want to make a commitment with in good and bad times. And you can not wait to share or introduce everything with him/her- your life, interests, family, friends, etc. And you want to grow old and learn from one another and respect each other. And when you are both ready to start a family, you and your loved one pass on down the same values and pearls of wisdow to the little one(s).
