* QOTD Saturday, 3/10/12 *

How long after getting engaged did it take for you to start planning the big day?

I waited 4, close to 5 months before planning any thing related to my wedding! I wanted some time to be engaged... but I seriously could not take the nagging questions any longer!

Looking forward to seeing those of you going to the G2G later on today!

We got engaged Thanksgiving Eve 2011, so we were able to enjoy Thanksgiving as an engaged couple. I started making up a list right away of different RHs to see, but we didn't start until after Christmas.

Bahaha yeah I got engaged in July and didn't look for or book an RH until December I was definitely not one of those brides that jumped into it. I still feel like I'm taking my time with booking things. I guess I'm a little lazy

Got engaged on my Birthday (6/2) and booked our RH at the end of July.

We got engaged in July and our plan was to not do any wedding related stuff until after our trip which we were taking in October. The weekend after we got engaged, we went to his family party and EVERYONE was hounding us about where we were gonna have the wedding and we need to be booking ASAP. I was like ummm the ring doesn't come with a venue or the money to get married. Needless to say we booked the hall by mid August and waited to start looking at vendors until after the new year.

We both got engaged in July and we r both getting married in may!!!!

lol....I think we might have had the full day after Christmas to enjoy it, but then we started looking at RHs the next day. We both knew we wanted a small wedding (100 max would be great!) because inviting people 'just because we have to' isn't our thing - so we jumped right into it by looking at venues with places for small weddings, and demanded guest lists from parents ASAP before they could even argue

We got engaged December 15th. I had already researched a lot of venues and knew where I wanted to look (we went together to get my ring made so i knew he was going to ask me) We waited until after the new year to make appointments though.

I got engaged the end of November and we started looking at halls in Jan. We didn't wind up booking though until March.

I started right away, but then FH said 'hold on'. We had our EParty within 2 1/2 months but didn't start the wedding Planning till 6 1/2 months after we got Engaged.

After 2 and 3 months of being engaged, FH and I started looking at halls. I had secretly been looking online at dresses and halls before the engagement. lol

After waiting FOREVER.... about two days... I started emailing venues we knew we were interested in.

Engaged in oct. Started planning in jan , people started saying halls and photogs book up a year in advance, they scared me into planning!! noW that i have my venue, band and photographer im taking my time with everything else!

That's why I booked my Hair/makeup so far in advance - people & blogs were scaring me into the bookings!

The day after our engagement (engaged 6/5/11) we set the date! Lol As soon as we got back from Vegas I started doing research on halls online and we made a rough draft of our glist. About 2 or 3 wks later we started looking at halls. I knew this would be the most expensive part so we wanted to get it booked and know what we were spending asap! We booked our hall at the end of July.

We found a house Aug 15th. I got engaged Aug 16th. We decided to wait until we were in contract to start looking for RH. When I called family members to let them know I was engaged they all asked if I had a date and place picked out. I was in shock! In mid Sept. we started to look for a RH.
