Is everyone getting their parents and FIL's parent gifts? If you are, what kinds of things are you buying them? If you aren't what made you decide not to?(sorry if this is a repeat question)
I think we are. I want to get my parents tickets to a show. Not sure about the FIL's. I have to talk to FH about that.

Besides purchasing the parent albums for FMIL and my parents, we'd like to get them gifts. I thought about gift cert's to their favorite restaurants or tickets to a show. I wish I could think of something more meaningful but there's still time!

FH had a fight about this last week! We are paying for the wedding ourselves so he doesn't feel that we should be getting them gifts on our wedding but I think we should get them something small anyway. I finally convinced him that we should get them something, now I just have to figure out what that something will be.

We want to get our parents tickets to a show too so they can all go out together.. Hopefully that is what we are going to do unless we dont have the money!

I think we will..we really haven't discussed that yet though.
But I think tickets or gift cert to restaurants are both good ideas.

Absolutely, my parents have been amazing and FH's family is going through so much that any support they give us is above and beyond.
My mother is in love with this waterford Tea Pot so I am going to get her this:
For my father we are thinking with his initials engraved on it.
We haven't decided yet for FH's family.

We probably will, but haven't really discussed anything yet. His parents are contributing a lot, and my parents to a degree, so we should probably get them more than just parent albums, considering we got those thrown in the package lol.
I'd honestly rather just give them a grandson though

We probably won't. We're paying for 99% of the wedding ourselves. My mom is paying for my gown and the flowers. His parents are paying for nothing.

i got my mom and FH's mom personalized hankerchiefs for the wedding day. FMIL says 'mother of the groom april 4, 2009' and my moms says 'my mother, my best friend april 4, 2009'
we havent decided for our dads yet.

My parents LOVE foxwoods so I think we are going to get them a weekend there with a gift certificate for dinner and such !!! Plus the night of the wedding we are getting them a limo ride home !
FH's father really isn't involved so if it was up to me we wouldn't get him anything ....

They're each getting their photo albums from us.. Since my mom is helping us pay for part of the wedding (and our e-party) we're gonna buy her a big flat screen tv next year, after our HM.
