QOTD - September 13th WITH POTD

I am going to make this a QOTD and POTD all inclusive for today. I will be passing the crown later this afternoon - I unfortunately will not be around tomorrow and I dont want to be neglectful and not pass it until Monday - that would be extremely unfair

How long is/was your engagment before your wedding day? Did you intend to have a long/short engagement?

We didn't have a 'plan' when we got engaged of exactly when we wanted to get married. I just wanted to graduate and have enough time to take my boards without having my wedding at the same exact time. With taking my Boards in Late January/Early Feb - it made April an easy choice

1 yr & 3 months is our engagement before our wedding. We planned on a destinationwedding but since FH is an only child his parents asked us to have a big NY wedding. So here we are. LOVING EVERY MOMENT OF IT!

22 Months we got engaged in Jun'07 and I would not have change it. I have a great time planning the wedding I allowed myself enough time to plan a special event for FH and I. I feel like we been together so long we deserve well planned and thought out wedding I am adding alot of special personal detail to the wedding that I am most excited about.

Our engagement will end up being almost 5 years long. I always knew we were going to have a long one because we got engaged when I was 19
We got engaged in 2004 and we were originally going to get married in 2007 when I finished college but when 2006 rolled around and it would have been time to start planning I realized I was having a lot of fun in college and didn't want to be overwhelmed with wedding planning yet, andddd I decided to go to grad school so the money factor became an issue as well. We ultimately decided to wait until 2009 because now I'm done with grad school, I got my crazy partying phase over with and the money situation is much better now lol.

1 yr & 2 months is our engagement ! We had to plan it around the school calendar since we have kids !!!!!!

Our engagement will be just shy of 2 years. We didn't really plan to have such a long engagement but different factors in life made it that way. I've needed to have dental work done for a while, and I figured the wedding was a good push for me to get it done. I wanted to give myself at least a year for it to be complete. Then my cousin got engaged so I didn't want to have our weddings too close. My cousin chose April, so we chose the fall. When we went to look at halls the date just fell into place. In the end, I'm really happy with the length of our engagement.

14 months. We wanted it to be sooner, but we knew we wouldn't have been able to come up with the money .

Our engagement will be just one month short of 2 years long. I originally didn't want to be engaged for more than a year but once we started to seriously think about a date, it just made sense for us to get married in the end of June since we're both teachers. (I originally wanted to get married on our 6 year anniversary....August 16, 2008) but that would have only given us one year to save and plan.

I'm glad we chose the date we did because we will get to enjoy being newlyweds for the entire summer without having to go to work. It also helps that we can save extra money since we have more time.

Our engagement was 13 months long!
We didn't want a long engagement (we've been going out for 10 1/2 years already )....... getting married on our 11th anniversary 1.16.2009!

We were engaged Sept 1st of 07 and will be married 8-27, so we are just shy of 2 yrs.

Our engagement will be 1 year and a lil over 2 mos from the wedding. We didn't have a set date that we wanted, we just wanted to do it about a year from the engagement

We are getting married in 8 months from the time we got engaged. we intended to have a short engagement. we are so ready to marry each other and start the next chapter of our life.

We got engaged 2/08 and are getting married 10/09. We originally wanted to get married in April or May, but the place we wanted ended up not working out, so then we went with a fall wedding. It really didn't matter to us how long we waited.

we originally thought of getting married 7/11/08, a friday because of money stuff, but decided against it in the end and went for the saturday in 09. i was feeling a little panicked about making the decision right away bc summers book up so fast and i'm a teacher. we decided to take the 2 years to save and take our time with vendors. we already live together, so what's the big deal, ya know?

15 month engagement which is just right for us!

Our engagement will be 1.5 years, which was what I always wanted. I always knew that for me I I do not want to run the risk of having someone else get the vendor I want so I wanted to make sure there was plenty of time to plan enough. Also I wanted to be able to enjoy this time in our lives!! I would hav eeven waited 2 years... he on the other hand, said he couldnt wait that long and wouldnt. He says he wanted me to be my wife the nigt that we met so, he has been waiting 3 years and thats long enough
