I am going to make this a QOTD and POTD all inclusive for today. I will be passing the crown later this afternoon - I unfortunately will not be around tomorrow and I dont want to be neglectful and not pass it until Monday - that would be extremely unfair

How long is/was your engagment before your wedding day? Did you intend to have a long/short engagement?

22 Months. When we got engaged it was july 22, 2006. I wanted to JUST enjoy the engagement itself without any of the planning. About 3-4 months after being engaged we started to plan. I wanted May or June and obviously since we started planning around oct-nov, i didnt want to plan everything in 6 months and also shelling out that much in 6 months. We also thought about sept of 07 but changed our minds and decided to stick with May. So obvious thing to do was wait until May 08 and I am glad we did.

our engagement will be almost exactly a year and a half. We got engaged last november, and i really wanted a spring wedding...we knew we couldn't pull one together in 6 months so we opted to wait until the next spring..which was in 2009. It didn't make much of a difference to us, and to tell you the truth..time has FLOWN by so fast i'm glad we took the extra time.

1 year and 3 month engagement. The engagement was a total surpirse. when we started thinking about dates we wanted a year and half. Origionally planned for a fall wedding but the more we thought about it, the more august made more sense for us

Our Engagement is about 1 1/2 yrs. We didn't have any length in mind but I also wanted to graduate first so that I can move upstate (where he is).

We got engaged on 6/22/08 and will be getting married on 12/5/09...so literally 2 weeks shy of a full year and a half. We were dead set against a spring or summer wedding, because we didn't want it to be hot or rainy and uncomfortable, and we knew we couldn't afford it anyways. We were looking for early-mid Fall originally, so it fell closer to the year and a half just because of the season we wanted. Plus it gave us a little more time to plan, and save.
Well little did I know it didn't give us THAT much time to plan as most things were already booked, and we couldn't even afford Fall! So we ended up choosing our last choice date on the list (we were flexible from a few weeks before 11/7 and a few weeks after, which was our first choice date), because it was when we could get our favorite place and actually be able to meet the minimum and the budget.

Engaged on 8-22-07 Wedding is 8-15-09
I actually wanted to get married on our engagement anniversary but FH didn't want to 'duplicate the date'. So... the first of MANY compromises, I agreed to have it the 15th as long as we could celebrate the 22nd while on our HM.
The reason why we planned a 2-year engagement is because we both wanted an August wedding and I needed more than just 11 months to plan. So we said 2 years would be good... and allows us more time to save money.

Our engagement will be about a year and four months long! I never thought that I would have a long engagement. Sometimes I wish I would have insisted on having a shorter engagement but with FH's work schedule this worked out best.

We got engaged on our 4 year anniversary... and it'll be just 2 month shy of a year and a half... so it works for us. Wish we saved MORE earlier this year, but we'll still swing it.

1 year, 7 months and like 25 days from when we got engaged to when we will be married....we chose the day like this...
Fh said we have to wait until 2009, i wanted to wait until after my birthday (complete age thing, 23 sounds better then 22), and i will (hopefully) have a teaching job by then, so anytime between 8/20 and like 9/5...whhhhiiiich didnt leave too much of a time window... so the we chose 8.22.09 and i like it

we'll just be shy of our 2 year engagement ...we figured we needed time to save money and plan things.... we chose july b/c we are both teachers and wanted a some time after the school year to get into wedding mode!
