My mom likes to believe FH and I haven't slept together. So, whenever we went away for the weekend, I would lie about what we were doing or where I was going so she wouldn't know we were staying in a hotel together.
So, we got engaged at the Ritz Carlton in the city. I told her we got engaged at a friend's house on Fire Island that weekend. When the families all had our engagement dinner, the truth came out! I felt horrible.
