I know that we are all in the midst of still planninig and getting ideas for our weddings....
i thought we would all share any Unique, different or cultural things that we wanted at our weddings....
what makes YOUR wedding stand out? what are YOU doing different?
this can range from STDs to RDs and even Bachlorette parties! if you dont have anything different....you can always post things you have seen in prior brides or even online...I know we all could use some differnt ideas!

Since I am a Latina Woman and alot of my family are spanish..I am planning on having a surprise mariachi band...I really wanted them to play during the dinner...
.I was contemplating on singing at the wedding...LOL b/c i love to sing, but i dont know if my nerves will get the best of me...
Ive seen this in past brides--I wanted to do my table numbers with something unique like the places where we have been to/pictures...
I will also be having some Latin traditions, such as the exchanging of the coins (arras) at the church, and having a laso or rosary tied around us during the ceremony to symbolize unity, .
If my wedding fund allows for this...I wanted to have a traditional Ecuadorian band (FH is ecuadorian) and have them play for the cocktail hour...
Well I guess most weddings are not Mets themed so I guess that is different.
Hopefully we will be having Mr. Met there so I am really excited about that. We are not telling anyone and when the DJ annouces us for the first time instead of FH and I coming out we were going to have Mr. Met come out and then announce us again and we come out..... or have us come out with Mr. Met. We have not decided whcih we like better yet! Hope that the Mets have an away game that day so that Mr. met can come to our wedding!
I am jewish and he is catholic s we are going to bring pieces of both into the wedding. I do not care if we do the horrah and the chairs but FH's side of the family is insisting. As they say... 'I was to launch Andy fromt he chair' haha

this isn't cultural, but it's probably crazy (by 'bride standards' at least)
I sorta really want it to rain (or snow) on my wedding day- just a little!
FH is weather obsessed- he stalks the weather channel, so having weather headed our way would be a good thing to distract him from pre-wedding jitters.
and I'm accessory obsessed, I'm gonna buy my bridal party umbrellas in our wedding colors (probably with crazy prints) Just in case we do get weather., I would LOVE to take wedding pics in my dress with rain boots and all those fun umbrellas... and me and FH kissing under a huuuggee umbrella!
and the city sidewalks look sparkley when it rains!
hopefully I grow out of this obsession, because I know rain is a PITA for everyone else. lol. am i nuts????

FH and I are being married by his uncle.. I dont know if thats super different but i've personally never seen it before!
I also want to surprise FH with a cigar roller! which I know is becoming more and more common..
We're having a steel drum band during CH with tropical drinks!
FH is also jewish so I know he wants to do the chair thing which scares me... I dont wanna fall!!!!!!! lol

i would love to do the chair thing! but im not jewish LOL Mara, are you guys doing the Chuppa? i love that.... !!! i wanted to do sparklers but i just called CB and they dont allow them....I love my RH they are so good at answering questions on the spot

I am not getting married under a chuppah. If the weather is nice and the ceremony is outside then I will be but if it is inside I will not be,
I am getting married by a retired judge that works at my firm. I am really excited for it!

I'm dead set on doing a photobooth... I know it seems really popular on this board but it'll be all new for my friends and all the OOT'ers... also the OOT'ers are not used to a reception hall like here, I really think they'll be blown away.
We're doing a wine theme so I'm trying to figure out what else we can do to tie it in, I'm looking for a big use wine cask or barrel and thats what I want the cake to be set on rather then the normal table.
Since we're doing a day wedding I don't want to do a rehersal dinner, I want to do like a rehersal lunch and do a mini-wine tour with the families since it'll eb the first time everyone meets.
The day after the wedding will be my 27th birthday and mothers day, so I want to bring my family, and his family out to a day after brunch so they can all celebrate since I will be the only non-mother woman there, haha.

HAHAH Mr Met idea is GREAT!! I know someone who knows someone (heheh) who did something similar except the groom surprised everyone with Mr Met --even the bride!! He stood up and made a speech about he invited a very special person to come here tonight that he loves very much, and that its someone very near and dear to his heart and then the music played and Mr Met came in and everyone went crazy it was hysterical she said!!!

Not really different but I thought it was a very clever idea!! One of my BFFs and bridesmaids came up with it We were thinking of having a purple signature drink --either a martini called the 'Margu-lini' or a purple margarita called the 'Margu-lita' my new last name is going to be 'Margulies'!!!!!!

Like Mara, baseball will be an important theme because it's basically what brought us together. We have our entrance songs all Yankees themes and our table numbers are going to be in honor of retired players (and a few playing that will be retired someday). The table number is going to be a double frame and look like the back of a jersey on one side and a black and white picture of the player on the other side. We have pinstripes included tastefully in other things too like the cake, menu, escort cards, etc.
Now the really unique thing I'm throwing around, I'm kind of scared even saying it here because it has to be a big secret from everyone not involved for it to be funny, is having a 50-75 person flash mob. There will be a TON of dancers at my wedding and we think it would be funny if like during salad or something I took the dance floor and started dancing to something really corny like Whip It or Can't Touch This and then two by two they all started going into the choreography. I don't know though.... funny or corny? I NEED OPINIONS! lol

-Im wearing blue heels for my pictures and probably sneakers under my dress... -No flower centerpieces -No brides side/ grooms side at the ceremony...if were joining together as one so should our families and friends
