Okay ladies....I'm sitting here trying to eat my breakfast and my puppy just isn't having it!!!!
It's a good thing he's super cute!
So I'm thinking abotu food! FH and I were talking the other night about his favorite meal i have cooked for him. Aparently it's the pot roast because he never had it growing up. I made it last ngith because he said it was his favorite! Anyway, I have a four part question today.....
Do you cook for FH? If so, what's his favorite thing you cook? If you could or have learned one special dish for FH because it's his fav, what is it? And if FH was to cook for you what would he make???? Oha nd for those of you who mainly eat out, what is you and FH's favorite restaurant to go to together?
For me, yes I cook, almost everynight if I'm home! In the winter I coach, so I don't get hoem in time to cook. He said his absolute favorite meal I ever cooked was the Thanksgiving I did two years back! The one dish I learned to cook for FH was Eggplant Parmesan! YUM!!! Never had it before I met him, but his mothers is amazing! He said recently I have surpassed his mothers talent for cooking! 'SHHHHH DON'T TELL!!!!' If FH ever cooks for me he makes chicken cutlets, mashed potatoes and stuffing! We love to eat out so this one is tough, I'm gonna have to say two, Buffalo Wild Wings, because I could eat there everyday! But in the summer it has to be the Fish Market in Island Park, it is the best grilled fish ever!!!!!

Do you cook for FH? All the time, though I don't view it as cooking 'for' him - I'm cooking for us. I actually really love to cook and try out new recipes or tweak old ones to make them something new. And love that FH will try anything so he's always up for whatever I decide to make for dinner.
If so, what's his favorite thing you cook? I would say his favorite dishes of mine are my Spicy Sausage with Spinach Pasta, Jambalaya Shrimp over Rice, or Chicken Faijita Burritos.
If you could or have learned one special dish for FH because it's his fav, what is it? Chicken Curry. I've eaten Indian curry before I met FH but when we started dating I don't think I ever met anyone who ate it as much as he did! He would have it 2-3 times a week and he loves Chicken Vindaloo which is like the spicy dish you can get. When the Indian takeout place by us change owners and the food just didn't taste the same, I started trying to make it at home. FH really liked the way it came out so now I try and make that at least once every 2 weeks for him.
And if FH was to cook for you what would he make???? Shepard's Pie, Chicken Cutlets, some form of pasta dish, or breakfast for dinner.
Oh and for those of you who mainly eat out, what is you and FH's favorite restaurant to go to together? London Lennie's on Woodhaven Blvd or Mojave in Astoria.

I always cook for FH. He's made me dinner like a handful of times and they have been good (salmon one time, meatballs another) but he takes FOREVERRRRRR. So him cooking on weeknights is not an option since I would kill him from hunger.
We did have a fight because I got tired of cooking every night so we were supposed to take turns. Well, he took my roasted chicken leftovers from the night before and just put it on a salad for his turn to cook such a cheater.
anyway, yeah that arrangement didn't last too long since like I said, he takes too long to cook so now I am back to cooking for him.
FH loves roasted potatoes, a seafood pasta that I make, chili, salad (he never liked salad before I started making it for him), turkey spinach meatballs with mozz cheese in the middle, PIZZA, etc. He is mainly a meat and potatoes kind of guy though
OHHH he LOVES my croissant bread pudding, peanut butter cookies, and vanilla bean cheesecake. yup, he gets fattened up so he can't run away
eta; Gouda Mac & Cheese with Proscuitto that I made for christmas this year was one of his favorite things EVER. I'm making it for him after the wedding when we are no longer dieting!!!!

Haha I hate cooking! FH cooks a lot more than I do and he's good at it. He likes a few dishes I make--I make a delish pasta salad if I do say so myself and I bring it to every event (it's now a joke with my friends!) and I make a good macaroni and squash dish. That's where it ends
I'm a fantastic (neurotic) cleaner though so I get that job instead

Wanna come clean our house? I'm a horrible cleaner! My ADHD prevents me from following through with anything! I'm easily distracted! Haha!

no i actually dont even use mayo, i roast chopped up potatoes, carrots and onions with just a little extra virgin olive oil and whatever seasonings i have usually just salt, pepper, oregano, rosemary, thyme whatevers in the spice rack lol. i let them get very dark and crispy on the outside meanwhile i whisk tpgether a dressing made with more olive oil, apple cider vinegar, a teeny bit of sugar and a spicy sweet honey mustard. then once the veggies cool i pour the dressing over them mix them up and let them soak in in the fridge for a couple hours or even overnight. the longer the dressing soaks in the more the veggies absorb it all like a sponge. it is so good! so tangy its my signature dish to bring to a bbq, plus its relatively healthy aside from the olive oil but i really dont use that much of it.

I totally cheat - it's such an easy recipe! I make chicken cutlets but mix dry mushroom soup mix in with the bread crumbs and add fresh garlic to the oil that I fry them in.
For the sauce I mix 2 cans of condensed cream of mushroom soup with marsala wine and add sliced mushrooms. I throw in some pepper, onion powder, garlic powder and salt and simmer it until the mushrooms are tender (about 30 mins on medium-low) heat.
Pour the sauce over the chicken and your done. Sooo easy and so yummy!
