Since we're on the xmas topic, how many of you want to start some kind of tradition with FH that you will continue every year..?
I always wanted to do something special every xmas, like go ice skating or watch xmas movies, but we never go through with it. I guess we didnt come up with a good enough tradition.

Re: QOTD - Thursday
i want to start one.. but not sure what yet... maybe i'll making him a special dessert but only make it on xmas... FMIL had a couple traditions that I know i'm going to keep and make my own, and I told FH and he liked that idea... but she had no xmas traditions....
i know i want to buy a new ornament for the tree every year we're together.. i thought that was a cute idea... on top of going to pick out a tree... yay this will be our first xmas together in our house...
We go to the city with my mom to see the tree and go to a resturant.

I think it will be hard for us to start any traditions since we will be switching back and forth every year as to whether we spend in on LI with my family or upstate with his family. Maybe once we have a family of our own we can start something up

Re: QOTD - Thursday
My family is big on celebrating xmas eve. When we were younger, my parents would wake my sister and I up around midnight and all our fam would be at the house, like santa just came. We'd open all our presents then, etc. So we'll just continue doing that, celebrating on xmas eve as well as xmas (also makes visiting both fams easier).

Re: QOTD - Thursday
I think probably just picking out a tree and decorating it together. Last year was a first year living together during christmas and his family never really did much and mine does a huge christmas so he was happy to be included. I cant wait to get my tree. Last year I got it on like november 30th and it lasted until January 2nd when we took it down. I cant wait!

Definitely the ornament thing, I want to send Christmas cards out too but I dont think FH will be into photo cards - probably will just go for a cute card in the stores. I bake a lot for the holidays - I would love to get him involved if he wants to!

Re: QOTD - Thursday
We started ours 2 years ago...We always take a picture with Santa.
We used to go to the Christmas show at Rockefeller on Christmas Day and go see the tree. But after the fourth year I got tired of dealing with all the tourists on my day off, so we stopped that.
I think I want to start having a tree-decorating party or something like that.

And we also give each other one gift at midnight on Christmas Eve...and then all the rest in the morning.
