We all picked our RH because it was ultimately the best fit for us (style, reputation, size, minimum, budget, etc.) But many of us looked around at several others.
If for some reason, your RH wasn’t available on your day – what would be your 2nd choice?

I looked at 6 RHs in person and many more online. If the VYC wasn't available, I would've gone with East Wind. The grounds are so pretty, perfect for a classic wedding. Also, they fit my budget and I really liked the lady that gave us our tour. The VYC fit our personalities and style a little better, but I think you East Wind brides have a GREAT RH to celebrate in!

Prior to finding Douglaston Manor (which I am the only 2013 bride there?) we had two choices.
East Wind - the gardens were pretty and the people were really, really nice. It was an affordable price and there was nothign to argue with. It was just... nothing jumped out that said us. East wind brides have a beautiful place..
Laurel Lake vineyard - extremely extremely affordable vineyard to have a wedding at. The owner and manager were both extremely charming, friend, willing to drop everything to talk to you the middle of a busy Saturday afternoon type people. Ultimtely they don't have a great rain back up plan, but that will be changing soo as the small vineyard continues to grow.

I had my heart set on CHCC since before I was engaged lol! But we also looked at Chateau Briand, and I would have booked with them if CHCC was out of the picture.
Also, I would have loved to do a winery, but FH doesn't drink and has actually never had a drink in his life, so it would have seemed a bit odd.

My second choice was Larkfield Manor. I thought their style was very similar to the Estate at East Wind and I fell in love with BOTH places. Ultimately I chose East Wind because Larkfield Manor is going under construction this winter. I still love both RH's!!!

If I couldn't do it at my RH I guess I would probably be still looking. I had an issue with every other place I went to. I guess I would have extended my search to Suffolk even though I feel it's too far from my church.

I looked at 9 different places and really didn't have a second choice . We probably would have moved our date because Thatched Cottage was just perfect.

Prob would have been Coral House because it was the best price. The day we went to go see Swan Club we had 2 more appts after then a food tasting at Coral. As soon as I saw Swan Clubs gardens I was in love. We drove by the other 2 halls but didnt even go in bcuz we knew it couldnt compare lol. We then went to Coral for the tasting and looked around again but it didnt look the same to us.. Swan Club won all of us over. I just might have moved the date to book at Swan if it wasnt avail.

I would have to say Bridgeview Yacht Club. I really liked it when I went to visit it.

Probably would have had to cut our guest list and gone with Lombardis on the Bay. That was actually my first choice but we chose to be able to have more people over a more expensive hall..

If I had more people coming to teh wedding, I would have went with the Vanderbilt in Staten Island. It was gorgeous, but for the amount of people I have coming, they would have cut the hall in half, and taken away the beauty of the room.

I actually have no idea. We knew we wanted to get married at The Venetian so we never even looked at another place. I would have probably moved my date but if I had to change it would have been Cheatea la Mer just because it has the same feel as the Venetain.

We were between Jericho Terrace and the Watermill. Watermill won, but JT was a close 2nd.
