How are your bargaining skills with vendors? Did you get any great deals?

Our bargaining skills S*CKED.
The only great deal we got was at our photographer and that was bc my mom came with us – she got the photojournalist and some other stuff thrown in for free!
We got what we felt were good prices from most other vendors so we didn’t do much bargaining.

I pretty much got deals with all my vendors because I am getting married on Thursday during offpeak season. The best one was photography and DJ.

My mom bargained with the photog and she's just the best at that. We got a massive discount at the RH and I wasn't even trying to bargain - I was just sort of pleading. I told him that it was the RH of our dreams but just wasn't in our budget and he asked me what our budget was and said they could do it! I couldn't believe my ears because it was more of a pity party than a bargaining plea.

We couldn't really negotiate with the florist (roses are pricey right after valentine's day) and the DJ, but we had success with the RH and the photographer/videographer. We got the RH down another 10 pp after an already reduced price for a winter, non-saturday wedding, and we got the photographer/videographer package (includes 2 photographers, videographer, all albums, videos, e-pics, first baby pics, thank you cards, I can't even remember what else) for about $2500!!!!! less. This photographer/videographer package was supposed to be the most expensive out of everyone, and after the negotiation they would up cheaper than Glenmar and 12th Night.

We did pretty good, but didn't even realize what we were doing! LOL. Like, one vender we went to we were all happy and YAY for that vender, but then they gave us the price, and haha... soo... they just starting 'throwing' in extras.. It was great! lol. If we 'plan' do act like that then it doesn't work in our advantage. I am always being told that I make facial expressions that give everything away..but I NEVER realize I'm doing it... So I guess with planning a wedding that comes in handy! HA

Mine are atrocious!!! I thought I would be so darn good but I S**ked.
I got $5 off per head on my RH and I know I could have done SOOOO much better but she had good sales skills and totally pressured me.

I am a really horrible bargainer. I always just say 'that's great! Thank you!' And sign the contract. FH is the same way, but probably worse. Although I think we've been pretty lucky with most vendors we've gone to giving us good deals because it's January, so I haven't worried too much about it.

Mine aren't really that good but at Russo's I stuck to my guns and sat down with Mr. Russo himself and busted out spreadsheets of every place I had been to and all the prices everyone was giving me. I got the price I wanted PLUS he threw in a few extra freebies

We didn't have to bargain really at all. Our dj ( tommys tunes) is a family friend so we got a discount. And we already got a great price at the RH so we didn't feel the need to bargain. For our photog, he offered the engagement picture sitting, and we didn't really want to use it for then so he gave us options of using it aftre the wedding, or for a baby shoot, which we liked so much better. I'm not very good at bargaining either.

We got a great price on our RH but they were have problems booking a date for us. We also were able to get a bunch of stuff thrown in with the photographer for free
