QOTD Thursday January 13, 2011

I hope everyone has dug themselves out from under the snow.

So I was looking over my budget last night and I figured for the qotd I would ask: what is the most important vendor in your eyes and which vendor were you willing to spend alittle more?

For me it is a tossup between the venue and the photographer
I mean the photos you have forever but at the same time you want to make sure your guests have a great time at the wedding

Great question! I actually looked at my budget last night also with FH and we are not going over budget on any vendor because I already went over budget on my gown But if I had to choose I would def say venue.

The most important vendor to FH and I that we're paying for is photography. I'm also including videography in this budget, but FH doesn't think its as neccessary. He's really artistic and wants good stuff that we'll treasure forever and I completely agree.

I agree with what you're saying about the vendor, but my parents thankfully are paying for that one. HOWEVER... my dad said 100 people, and right now our guest list is 175. But FH's list is all OOT and a lot consists of people he hasn't spoken to in years and I have no idea who they are, so I can't picture them going Oh yeah i'll fly across the country!! So I'm not too concerned, I think we'll stay on budget for that portion.

Hmmm... we went over budget on everything except photography so far but thats only because were not sure if were doing video or not.. I guess the most important is between the venue and DJ the food and music really makes or breaks it IMO.

Def the venue for us! Food and setting makes the occasion so we had multiple food tastings to get it right!!

Mine was photo/video. I budgeted more than I am spending. I saved more for photo so I could have the best pictures.

I already went over budget on venue so check for that. The quote I got for photography with the photographer I love is actually a little under budget but I would have been willing to budge on that if I had to.

ITA... I dont mind splurging on photos and the venue at all.

I would say the venue and the photographer. We went over budget on both these areas. I wanted a place that was different and unique. We also wanted a great photo package. We will always have our wedding/engagement pics to look at and I want them to be perfect.

I luckily didn't go over, but if I had to I would say photography...it's what you will look at 40 years from now....

For me it's a tie between the venue and photographer. The venue is important because food is definitely a priority on our list. The photographer is equally as important because the pictures are what you will have forever.

Aside from the venue, which we stayed pretty close to budget on, I am willing to go over budget on photography and music. The music will keep the party going, photos/video help keep the memories, and the food/venue is what people talk about after. We shall see though when I actually start to book my vendors. All we have so far is the church and the hall!

Aside from the RH (which we are definitely wayy under budget with) I would have to say photographer/videographer and florist. Everyone tells me I am crazy spending a lot of money on flowers, but they are important to me.
