Good morning ladies- as we all know wedding planning can have it's moments so today's question is:
When planning your wedding what was something you or FH really wanted that the other was against doing? Did you guys compromise, did one of you eventually give in, or are you just not doing it?
For me it was the idea of a photobooth. I had gone to a bridal showcase with my MOH & fall in love with the idea. FH thought it was a waste of $ until we went to see our DJ & they had us use theirs. FH had so much fun that we booked it

Still early in the planning but....This sounds so silly but since FH is from Buffalo he wanted to have some 'Buffalo' beer. So he is taking an imported beer off the list at the hall and adding a good beer then he wanted to take a domestic off and add the nastiest beer I have ever tasted just 'because it's from home' yuck! I call it instant hangover beer

Haha! I went to college in Buffalo, so I'm curious, which beer?

I really wanted to have a Bentley Flying Spur and FH did not want it at first. He would have just preferred a nice Mercedes sedan. But when he saw that there were none to be had, he gave in to the Bentley!

well originally we were always planning on getting married in Jamaica, and when the planning really started and i told FH i'm not sure about it anymore he was annoyed. finally he agreed to go look at halls and see what the have to offer and all that. i guess i won that one lol but i've also given in and agreed to some of his requests as well.

I wanted a Sunday in the Fall, but with him being a teacher and Football Fanatic (literally!), he was completely against a wedding on a Football Sunday. He said it was 'rude' to do to guests. lol
Summer was a better option in general, except the risk of dying from heat.

I really wanted a band (as did my parents, who are paying for it) and FH was stuck on the idea of a DJ, I believed mostly because he had never been to a wedding with a band. After one showcase he was hooked on the idea of having a live band, and we selected one after going to several other showcases.
The new conflict is transportation. I want a trolley and he is against it. The jury is still out on this one, so I'll let you know how it goes. Though, I might let him win this one. If I let him 'win' anything it should involve cars.

So far there has nothing that we have been against. We seem to be in the same page.

I have to laugh because we are getting married on a Sunday in October and FH was concerned about football too, he asked (still haven't figured if he was kidding or serious) if the TV in the RH could play the games

Honestly, for me... it was the idea of having this huge over the top wedding. I personally wanted a destination wedding & he wanted the big thing. I decided to just give-in and let him have it since he's always gone above and beyond to make me happy & it's the one thing I know he really would have regretted if he didn't have it.

One of the reasons FH agreed to Saturday without a problem I found out after the fact of course is that the Giants don't play on Saturday afternoons that early in the season

so i'm sure next oct i will have a post up here how my FH is freaking out about missing whatever game lol

Up until now FH and I have agreed on all other wedding decisions. However, right now we are in disagreement on centerpieces. Our budget is very tight and we did figure this was somehwere we could save and DIY. However, now that I have looked at DIY options, I just want to go to a florist for a small table arrangements, but FH is not budging! We'll see what we end up with!

hmm - so far we have really agreed on pretty much everything! at first it was the honeymoon, he wanted to do a mediterranean trip, and i wanted an island, but after thinking about it im getting more excited to do a mediterranean cruise because it offers entertainment and i need to be entertained! so we will most likely go with that..all of our other plans we have really been in agreement with =)

Re: ~*~*QOTD Tues 9/20*~*~
For us, the biggest compromise has been by FH. If he had it his way, he would love to do a destination wedding with our closest family. I just could not picture our day not surrounded by everyone in our lives. With a destination wedding, you risk people not being able to make it due to concerns with money.
FH is older than I am and if it were up to him, he would rather have the house and the kids sooner than later. Granted, i'm no spring chicken and I want all those things too. We live in my condo right now and our house and children will come. But a wedding with a nice reception is something I've always wanted. I'm so greatful and lucky that he has given me minimal grief over this . and has been very involved in our planning which I LOVE!!

get a picture, it will be awesome. I already know there will be a house (or hotel room, not sure yet) of groomsmen screaming at the tv while getting ready for the game. ughhhh lol

This. I have always wanted a very small wedding in Italy. FH really wanted a big wedding. I didn't have the heart to take that away from him.
