~*~*~*~*~ QOTD Tuesday 4/13/10 ~*~*~*~*~

Original post by leesah85

Good morning ladies!

Hope you all had a wonderful day yesterday! Here's today's QOTD!

Question of the day:
How much are you catering to your OOT guests when/if they come to your wedding? How do you decide how much is too much? Do you have to shuttle them from ceremony to reception? Do you pay for their overnight accommodations? If they are in town for the RD, are they to be invited? What about a brunch the day after your wedding - is it necessary? If so, who pays and what time should it be? What do you all think the proper thing to do is? After all, these people are coming from all over the country, and presumably all over the world to come to YOUR wedding.

My Answer:
We're not paying for their overnight accommodations or (as of right now) shuttling them from ceremony to reception. We are, however, trying to find hotels that have free shuttles that the guests can take back and forth to the reception hall. To avoid the RD issue, because most of our OOT guests will be coming the day of or the day before, we're having our RD a whole week before our actual wedding date. As far as a brunch goes, we're trying to avoid it (mainly because I don't want my parents to have to pay for it, and I don't particularly want to pay for it either) - we're leaving for our HM at 4pm the day after our wedding so I don't know how much time there will be to do any sort of brunch/lunch/breakfast with the family thing.

What about you ladies?

ETA: Edited for clarity.

Re: ~*~*~*~*~ QOTD Tuesday 4/13/10 ~*~*~*~*~

I was tried to post my answer like 3 times but my computer at work kept messing up so I hope this answer goes through!

The main reason why I chose CB was because it is sorta close to the city and there are a bunch of hotels near by, so my OOT have options of where to stay, either at a hotel in queens by where I live or in a hotel near the RH. My FH does not want to invite any of his OOT relatives so most of the OOT guest are my college friends who I love! Since the ceremony is at the RH, I donthave to worry about shuttling people back and forth. Also, the wedding will be on Easter Saturday so ill be asking the hotel where I will be booking the majority of the rooms if they are going to have an Easter brunch.

Most likely ill be doing the RH dinner that week and prolly schedule like a happy hour greeting for my OOT buddies on Friday!

this is an easy one for me because we don't have many OOT

i will set up a hotel block
and if we have a lot of people who book then maybe we will set up a shuttle

Id like to do a brunch the morning after the wedding but that is not necessarily for the OOTers...more 'just because' lol
