QOTD- Wedding Nightmare!

QOTD- Wedding Nightmare!

Ok, so I'm straying from my 'list' today, but I figure I can throw in some extra questions

I was trying to fall asleep last night, and had a 'wedding flash'. I can't really call it a nightmare, because I was still semi-conscious, but it was a truly frightening thought.

FBIL has been surrounded by weddings and engagements lately. First his cousin, then his brother (FH), now one of his best friends just got engaged. He has a gf that he has been with for maybe 2 1/2-3 years now, and although they're 'young' (they're both my age, 23-24), they probably will get engaged at some point in the next few years I would assume. So I think he may be getting some ideas in his head.

So my panic-inducing flash was...what if he proposes at our wedding???? Sometimes I highly question this family's thought process...like they would totally think this is an acceptable thing to do, because it's a family affair. Yes, they are that @$$ backwards sometimes.

So my question to you ladies....what would you do if someone proposed to their gf (or bf) at your wedding???? I mean, what would you REALLY do, and how would you REALLY feel. I don't want to hear someone get all Pollyanna and say it's a beautiful wondrous thing and then have everyone lemming off that. I want honest, REAL emotions and actions.

Like, would you willingly sacrifice your cake to go grab the girl and smash her head into it?

Not that I would do that, of course. I do like FBIL's gf, just I would be extremely hurt if they were do do something like that at my wedding. They have a pack mentality, and sometimes I don't think much care or attention is given to an individual's feelings. So while I probably wouldn't go smashing heads, I would probably have a VERY noticably pissed look on my face, and discretely excuse myself from the party for a few minutes to go sulk in the bridal suite.

Ok girls...be HONEST.

It would depend on who, how much of a spectacle they made and why they chose that date. I would prefer they didn't but I don't think I would flip out.

I definitely would be ok if someone got engaged ON our wedding day but not at our wedding. I mention this because fh and my 2 year anniversary (of being back together) was on our mutual best friends wedding day, over Labor Day weekend. He was my best friend in college (in the yearbook and everything) and fh and him were best male friends. He really pissed me off when he made this huge deal about how mad he would be if we got engaged anytime that weekend.

hmm... well he is young enough to actually do that .. have they been talking about marriage latety? And if he does it Im sure he will talk to his mother or your Fh right? so they will know about it. My sis was dying for me to get engaged on her wedding day! She kept begging FH to do it but I just felt it wasnt right so I made him hold off... I guess it just depends on the person.. my sister didnt care at all.. but i would! lol

I probably wouldn't do or say anything to their faces... but you had better believe there would be some talking behind their backs going on! haha

I would be SO mad in a completely selfish, this-is-my-day, bridezilla on TLC kind of way. I

n all honesty I'd probably rant and rave in the bridal suite and then come out all smiles and just pretend.

I would be really pissed off because i dont want anyone else to shine on our day except us. Sounds selfish and all but its the truth.

If they did it quietly at their own table, I think I would be too busy to care at the wedding but afterward I'd be a little pissed.

If they tried to take the mic from the MC and do it, then I might have to football tackle them. Except I'd have to beat my sister to it because she'd have that same instinct and she's quick.

I AGREE! i am so easy going when it comes to this wedding...sure i have had my freak out moments...but not over the typical things you see on 'bridezilla'.

Re: QOTD- Wedding Nightmare!

I think this is an extremely rude thing to do. Unless they came to you before hand and asked you if you minded and if they could do so. Otherwise it's just plain rude to do that. Sorry, my opinion. However I am not about to create more of a specticle of it... or in anyway shape or form draw attention to it. So I wouldn't do or say anything about it. I would rather wait until the perfect time to mention it to them... in hopes of some understanding and perhaps an apology. I think some of my BM's would be really pissed and I definately know at least one of them would probably end up saying something at the wedding ... so I would have to talk her out of it. Usually I tend to be a very rational person. I wouldn't want to do anything to make me appear as a monster to my other guests. This would be a situation best handled in private. I know so clean cut right? I didn't say I wouldn't invision things in my mind though! ha ha!

Also, I couldn't imagine why my wedding would be the best time for someone else to propose??? That's strange to me. And if someone propose to me at a wedding... I would feel INCREDIBLY awkard! Like IMMENSELY UNCOMFORTABLE! I don't even think I would want to tell anyone until later on. There's a place and time for everything... and someone else's wedding isn't the time to propose.

Re: QOTD- Wedding Nightmare!

I'd get really angry and probably get very bridezillaish if someone proposed to his gf at my wedding! C'mon it's my wedding it's nice if the attention could be on just me for 1 day!

And I'd probably make FH kick who ever's a$$ was stupid enough to propose to someone at my wedding....and I'd then proceed to kick him with my fabulous shoes while he's down

Sorry I got a little violent But I honestly think that would be my reaction!

I would be really pissed and probably give a fake smile and say congrats and be totally passive aggressive about it. i hate to say that, but its the truth.

I think I'd be alright with it, as long as it was done tastefully. I'm not really all IT'S MY DAY! about my wedding.

FH's family would never allow this to happen on our wedding day...and they are all up in everyone's business! lol and i have no possible threats in my fam...

however, IF this did happen, I would def say my congrats, but I would SOOO be pissed. I think it's an inappropriate time to propose, and honestly, call me a bridezilla, but inappropriate at any time that day unless its AFTER the wedding! a wedding should be about the bride/groom and that would totally steal their thunder!

I would be so extremely pissed that I don't think I'd be able to hide it!! I've waited 10 yrs for this day and if that person couldn't wait to do it someplace else they have issues!! I would be bridezilla all the way!! Just thinking about it gets me reved up!
