What is the most annoying comment you have gotten since becoming engaged? Complaints about the place/time/season/who is invited/etc.? How do you cope with these opinionated people!!?

I would say the most annoying comment we REPEATEDLY get is, “you 2 arent married yet? Its about time!” Granted, FH and I have been together for over 10 years, BUT we are only 25 so it’s a little different! Ppl are constantly making comments that were taking forever – I feel like saying, well if you have an extra million lying around somewhere feel free to share! At this point me and FH just shrug it off and tell ppl that we did things in a way that worked for US! Lol!

Again, like you ladies have said, i really didn't think the time between our engagement and wedding was all that long and really not taking opinions on that one
In fact, ONE particular woman who i'm not even that close with said to me once at the copier shortly before FH proposed: 'Deb, are you SURE you aren't wasting your time on this guy'?? (because we have been together for 5 years) I had to walk away from THAT one....
some of FHs fam also had problems with the time btw. the church and CH so we ended up moving it up an hour only bc my RH is so accommodating otherwise it would have stayed the same!

I respond..... 'We would be more than happy to get married tomorrow if you are going to pay for it!' Usually shuts them up pretty fast!

The most annoying comments we got so far were about where our rh should be and also about money and how much we should spend on stuff. I've just let it go bits not worth the hassle. Im gonna do what I want either way so some people just need to keep opinions to themselves!

Well FH and I have been engaged for 2 years, so yeah thus far it has been 'When are you getting married? Have you set a date yet?' everytime we see our familes.

Lets see. The top ones are 'Why are you not getting married in a church?' None of them are pretty enough for me. 'Are you going to be a Bridezilla?' I laugh that one off, but FH thinks deep down it bothers me. Maybe it does. 'No surprise there.' Can you just say congratulations damn it. My BM saying 'When it comes to what affects me I am going to speak my mind.' I just want to slap that selfish biatch!

I've gotten a few things but the one that takes the cake is my mother. I love her to death and I know she is only trying to help me plan but I get the 'Oh you like that?' comment quite a bit from her. I just kindly remind her that I am paying for the entire wedding myself and she just smiles back at me

One of my FH's relatives was commenting on my ring pic literally everyday...now he randomly texts me 2 months later at 8 am 'you are about to enter the best 5-10 years of your life.'
Seriously?? you're predicting 5-10?

No I just gave you two dates because I felt like it....
I also hated when they would ask, if we had a date yet. And we had only been engaged for a few hours
I hated when people would ask me when my date was too!!! I've only been engaged for oh about a day, no I don't know when I'm getting married! And when you tell them you haven't set a date yet, they seem upset!!! I finally just began telling them a season just to please people!

My bestfriend/MOH-- which I'm lately regretting... said to me, 'WOW- that ring looks so funny on your finger'.... ***? She's compared us her whole life and has not been able to keep a job or a man in almost 3yrs, so we aren't on the least bit comparible terms... She's been completely uninvolved and unsupportive and maybe after that comment- I should have known...
