QOTD Wednesday 8/12/09

Ok, so, we are looking for a house (we live in a townhouse right now) and we are trying to decide the key areas that we want to buy in. The conversation started with me saying that I wanted to look in the area that I grew up in because it was really nice and my family happen to live in that area still and him saying that he wanted to look in the area that he used to live in where his Mom and sister currently live. This brings me to my QOTD.....

This one is a three parter:
a) Where did you grow up? Hauppauge
b) Where did FH grow up? Brooklyn
c) When you move in together or buy a house where will you look to buy and why? Not sure, thus the question. We live in Islip now and are thinking of staying in the Islip, East Islip, West Islip or Bay Shore area, sort of in the middle of our families...

ETA: My answer! Sorry, I got busy and couldn't answer my own question!

I grew up in Dix Hills/Farmingdale kind of back and forth between my mom and my grandparents since they raised me for the most part.

FH is from Franklin Square.

Our house is in Amity Harbor but we are looking to sell it and buy a larger one. He wants to move to Manorville but I'm not sold yet.

A) Queens
B)Bronx when he was very young and when he got older around 8 years old they moved to Queens.
C) We want to move to PA but probably will stay in Queens for my mom for now.

1. I grew up in Massapequa.

2. DH grew up in Garden City.

3. We moved in together in Glen Cove (it was close to school/work for both of us). Then we moved out to Holbrook for a few years (close to my work as DH was away a lot for work). Now we moving to VA to be close to D.C. where DH just got a job. When we buy a house we are going to go a little deeper into VA for more property & better school districts.
