QOTD: What is something you should throw away, but can't!

I have a bunch of old speech-pathology journals. I've gotten rid of so many but can't get rid of some, even though I never look at them! I also have a ratty old sweatshirt that I won't let go of!

What shouldn't I probably throw away?

I actually just got rid of a lot of old stuffed animals, and some stupid awards and stuff from middle/high school...

I still have a huge bin of 'My Little Pony's' and Beanie Babies that I just can't part with!

A pair of ripped Levi's from 7th grade?? So like 1980?

Towels my aunt bought me at Fortunoff to go away to college, so 1986 ... they are all stringy!

I have a small shoe box that my Dad actually found at his house. It has notes from my HS boyfriend, the balloon from my Sweet 16, my corsages from all the proms I went to, an autograph book from elementary school and a few other things. I can't throw it out even though I don't know where that boyfriend is, don't keep in touch with anyone from elementary school, the flowers in the corsages are no longer pretty etc.

Ok, I have a box of letters that an ex sent to me when he was in Bosnia in the army. They're not all letters from him, some of them are from his friends who were there with him. They're not mushy letters, just funny letters about the things they had to do when they were there. He disclosed a lot of security details, too! JT knows I have them, he's even read a few of them because they are so funny. But I guess it's about time I get rid of them.

Oh yeah btrflygrl..I have a drawer full of cards my ex gave me that I actually just took out to look at because they have some nice poetry that I could use on them :() Also when FI and I moved in together there was a picture on his side of the bed of me and my ex at Great Adventure that took me 3 months to throw away...not because I was still pining but I just would forget about it LOL

I'm a packrat. I never throw old clothes away. I keep telling myself that people won't see that little hole in those cool tights if I wear knee-high boots. Or that little stain on a shirt I've had since 9th grade...

...not to mention that sweater that is perfectly nice but perhaps a bit too boxy in shape, which has therefore lingered, unworn, in my closet for the past five years.

Worse yet: when I finally bring myself to donate old clothes, the 'donation pile' sits in a corner of my closet for months and months (sometimes even a year) before I get around to bringing it to Goodwill.

Half the stuff under my bed...

-ELEMENTARY school projects that I worked really hard on..

-High School notebooks from classes w/ my favorite teacher, cuz I might need to know about the founding fathers again someday..

-old autograph/yearbooks from JHS.

-Photo albums of birthday parties of people I dont remember, cuz I looked cute when I was 6.

-stuff from my first time living on my own that decorated my apartment (strobe lights, disco balls etc)

-textbooks from school from classes like History of Grimms Fairy Tales, that I took for fun. Also old Latin textbooks, as proof that once I knew that stuff.

Someday they'll find my buried under a mountain of old junk

I probably have 50 pairs of shoes & I haven't worn some in years! Those could definetly go.

I also have so many bottles of lotion, I must have at least 10 & I hardly ever use them, I just can't bring myself to throw them out!

I also have some hairclips from the 80's & 90's that are very outdated, one is a huge hot pink ribbon clip, but I can't throw it out!!

I keep everything from school...all my assignments, notes, awards, newspapers with my name in them, etc. I keep stupid junk too, like the stuff I decorated my locker with during my senior year of HS (like 14 years ago)
