QOTD: What is the worst job you ever had?

QOTD: What is the worst job you ever had?

For me it was when I was 16 and worked in a fried chicken place. People could be so rude sometimes. But you gotta start somewhere, right?

When I was 13, I got an off-the-books job at the local bagel shop. Because I was the newbie, the older girls who worked there always made me do the worst jobs - like cleaning the decaying 3 week old whitefish salad off the inside of the refrigerator case... with straight bleach on a rag. The bleach ate through my plastic gloves and my hands burned for days!

Hands down when I worked at one of the dining halls my sophomore year of college. I had spent all of my money that I made over the summer on concerts, etc. so I was forced to get a job.

It was awful. Mainly because I hated the girl who was usually my supervisor. She was like 3 years older than me, and thought she was just wonderful or something cuz she had been made a supervisor... she talked to me like I was 6 years old and it drove me nuts.

I was so happy to quit at the end of sophomore year... and I learned my lesson the next summer and saved enough money to get me through so that I didn't have to work...

That would be the job I left in October 2002 when I was working for my current jobs competitor. I cant begin to tell you the mental abuse I endured - I still have nightmares about it every now and then.

When I was 16 I worked in a bakery. I would have to be in for 3 a.m.
My mom would walk me to the bakery past the park where all my friends were still hanging out drinking and whatever! They would always call down to us and wave. One of the guys would come down and walk my mother home safely.

But it was horrible to be at work in the middle of the night. I was always half asleep!

ugghhh, after college but before i got a 'real' job, i worked for two days (couldn't take it anymore) for my friend's boyfriend. He's in 'traffic engineering'...aka car counting - and I had to hand out surveys to cars at a busy busy intersection of a main highway up north. They stopped at the light and i had to run up to the windows handing out these flyers, oh and i had to wear that awful orange vest thing!!! Cars were honking, guys were whistling, and i even saw someone i KNEW! after two days i didn't care how much it paid, i was DONE. haha...i guess it builds charcter and it definitely humbling, but i wouldn't want to do it again.

Ok- well in my recent career history, it would be my last job. It was the WORST- and I only took it cause I was out of work for a while (a long while) and it was the first thing I got. I had to stick it out for a year- while heavily interviewing and not being able to get out. They laid me off the day after my birthday this year. Bastards.

Other than that- I have done telemarketing- selling chimney sweeps in the middle of August, I drove a mini-bus for a day camp, as well as working in some really annoying clothing stores. Abercrombie was like the Gesthapo.

Hands down, it was the job I just left in October. My manager had zero personality skills and was the most obnoxious person I have ever met in my life. He made my life hell for the 18 months that I was there! I still get so angry thinking about the mental abuse that I endured!

in high school i worked at a nursing home as a feeder aide. Nothing like having 90 year old people spit their food at you.

When I was 15 I worked as a telemarketer for chimney cleaning! It was depressing being hung up on so much but the money wasn't bad, especially to a 15 yr. old.

i worked at a place called 'the shrimp hut' over a Christmas break in college and the hygiene there was so non-existent-totally grossed out! after i quit i called the local news crew and had the local guy who does restaurant inspections surprise them!

I worked at TCBY when I was 16. It was yummy, but kinda gross....cause I ate alot and I used to spill yogurt and ice cream on myself.

I'd have to say either an assembly worker on a cosmetics line company or the job I had up til a couple of weeks ago, working as an admissions counselor in a psychiatric hospital. That was rewarding, but very hard.
