I have not been able to shake 'boyfriend' I've been calling him that for that past 11 years- it's hard enough thinking about calling him husband!! I just can't transition myself to fiance...even though everyone 'corrects' me- even VENDORS!
he jokingly calls me Bride-2-be...but I think he just refers to me as Jess to those that know me, or girlfriend if not by my name.
just wondered about the rest of you girls!

I can't shake the boyfriend title either...sometimes I say fiance, but boyfriend is more natural.

Its boyfriend most of the time-or just his name. I have heard him refer to me as his girlfriend and his girl. I think we both feel silly saying the word fiance for some reason! It will be much easier when its wife/husband!

I don't like the way fiance sounds. I guess cause it's french it sounds it sounds pretentious. LOL But of course I call him that anyway. He's so much more than a boyfriend

boyfriend I feel so silly saying Fiance - for some reason I get a french accent going. It is such a funny word to me
oh and once or twice I have called him FH duh!

I call him my fiance, it feels so comfortable. He was only my boyfried for 4 months so the transition was easy. Besides, he's 41 y/o so calling him my 'boy'friend was a lil weird! And thanks to LIW I call him my DH-to-be, my mom already refers to him as my hubby too!!

I say boyfriend.. sometimes FH cause He makes fun of LIW.. but fiance.. I just cant say... either could he.. I dont like that word at all. I think of that seinfeld episode.. the dingo ate your baby!

It's funny you ask most of the time I am like 'My uh uh, boyfriend ' because fiance just doesn't come naturally... i think just because of how fiance is pronounced... I have said Fiance before but most of the time now I just call him by his first name...

It depends on where I am . In some places, people use the word 'fiance (for a male)' and 'fiancee'(for a female) after one date. Where I come from, a person is ONLY affianced when a ring is on the finger. Yet sometimes I feel that people will think I am being pretentious or showing off if I say 'My fiance... blah blah blah...' I either call him by his name or say 'fiance'.

r u kidding. when we got engaged, i started re-intruducing myself to his friends. 'hi, nice to meet you, i'm kevin's fiance'. kevin thought it was cute, but corny at the same time.

I hate the word - but I call him fiance - if not by his name. I also call him 'my dearest' and 'my better half' - - just because I really hate the word fiance! Time for an American word to replace fiance!

When referring to him I usually call him BF. But I do sometimes say fiance. I think it depends on my mood. To my family I say husband. Which sounds funny when I say it.

'Hey, you?' Only kidding...I don't like the word fiance either because I feel so silly saying it. It took me awhile to not say 'boyfriend' but most of the time I do refer to him as 'my better half'!

I can't believe there are so many girls out there who feel silly saying fiance!!! I totally thought I was the only one!!! I feel so much better but I have to admit I feel funny calling him my boyfriend, b/c he's not anymore. I agree with whoever said it's time to come up with a new word!!! Although I do like 'hey you!'
