(An attempt to take the best of all parts -- a respectful QOTD that get us all to know each other better, confined to a single post, and is why we are here...) I will start. For me, it was on our third date. We were walking home and I wasn't feeling that well and was worried about a presentation I needed to put onto powerpoint for the next day. Ken (FI) took me home and told me to take a nap. When I woke up, herbal tea (apple cinnamon) was waiting AS WELL AS the completed presentation! He had typed the WHOLE THING while I slept. He also left a note to say, now you can really get the rest you need. My heart melted and I thought, WOW.

considering that I was dating his best friend for 2 1/2 years before that and we HATED each other, I thought he was cocky and arrogant and he thought that I was snobby. Anyhoo, one night we were all going somewhere the ex and I were on a 'break' and there wasn't enough room in the car to where we were going but it was in the city and we were walking distance to the place, so we walked and talked for like a half hour, and I realized hey this kid is more than I thought he was...fast forward to a month later he calls me to thank me for going to his b-day party (very unlike him) and to non chalantly mention to me that he and his gf broke up...we stayed on the phone for 5 HOURS...every night after that we stayed on the phone, when I started hanging up on my friends when they beeped in I realized I might be falling for him....

It was actually the night he asked me out... we went back to my friends house to watch Go and I was having that nervous 'how do i act now?' feeling (he was my first bf, mind you). And we sat on the couch next to each other and he had his arms crossed and was stroking my arm with his thumb... I don't know, but i just had such butterflies... i went home with the biggest smile on my face.
man... that seems so long ago!

Not well, supposedly he asked him if it was ok, and he said go for it, mind you the BF was amazingly cocky and never thought in a million years that I would go for him, as I never thought I would too, they were complete opposites...so things moved along with us, and the BF lost it, and tried to break us up royally...mind you I was very very very close with the other guy, it was a very intense relationship and we had been the closest of friends more than anything....so I was trying to remain FRIENDS with him..fast foward to 3 months into the relationship, I get a phone call from the ex telling me he's moving to Spain to write and he bought me a ticket to go with him...: mind you for months now he had been doing everything in his power to break us up...so the Friends idea wasn't moving along well for me....to try to make a long story short, they never spoke again after coming to blows, and he had e-mailed me sporadically here and there after a year of not speaking, but haven't seen him since

It almost did, it was funny bc looking back at it both these guys are and were so not the ppl to fight, they would hide behind the girl to save themselves, but it got bad, and to this day my one regret is that they are not friends anymore, bc they grew up together, went to the same high school and college, and were inseperable

I fell for him the first time we were hanging out alone. We met in Queens College through a mutual friend who was just hanging out and there always seemed to be people around. Finally one day we both cut a class to hang out together and do you know what I said???
(I cant believe I am telling this story)
I was trying to get him to hug me or kiss me so I asked him 'What would you do if a tidal wave or earthquake happened right now? Would you protect me?' How corny!

Oooooh I like this thread... FH and I met under unusual circumstances. We were doing summer stock together, in a show with only 5 cast members total. We were literally together almost 24/7 for 2 weeks, as we had loooong rehearsals during the day, and the cast spent most of the evenings together working on music or just hanging out. I knew from the start he was special and felt myself falling really fast (although I tried VERY hard to deny it), but I knew I was in love roughly 1 1/2 weeks after we met, when he sat down at the piano and began playing a song he'd been writing for me since we'd met. I melted.

Me too, the most romantic thing he did besides the proposal was on the first date instead of flowers he got me a jar of pickles, cause when we were on the phone one night, i was mad at one of my roommates bc they ate all the pickles and didn't leave any for me, and as my name says i like my pickles

I am one lucky gal no doubt. What makes the song thing so interesting, is that the guy I dated before FH once said to me 'You need a guy that can write you songs..' The comment meant nothing at the time, but I ended up thinking alot about it over time, and although 'songwriter' wasn't on the list of criteria for the man of my dreams, being an artistic person myself, I always thought it would be nice to be with someone who shared my passion for the arts. However, I was terrified of becoming involved with an actor/performer/musician. Hence the reason I sooo denied being interested in FH at first. But I digress, that's a whole 'nother story. FH has blessed me with bunches of songs he's written for me that I am just begging him to record. The best wedding gift I could get is a CD of him singing all his orginal tunes...

Deb: I'm not sure. My mom is bugging the both of us to sing. I absolutely will not, but FH won't say one way or the other. If he does, I think I might hyperventilate! I cry every time he sings.. even if its in the car. I cannot imagine what I'd do if he sang at the wedding.

I actually recorded 'our song' for him and played it at the engagement party. So I consider my singing obligation to be complete. I think I'd probably be able to handle his singing a lot easier at the RD than at the wedding. Maybe I'll plant that little seed and see what grows. hee hee...

It is cute, he does little cute things for me that mean so much more to me....But he does sometimes lack in the romance department....but in the cuteness department he has it perfected....:)
