QOTD-when was the exact moment you fell for FI?

um, a day or two after our first date I was working late in the city and he drove in from queens to drive me home and brought me tiramisu. . . i dont like tiramisu at all but I thought it was just so sweet to drive in and get me and bring me a treat that I ate the whole thing. Walked into my apartment later that night and my roommate asked what I thought of the guy and I said, 'he's so nice and cute and reliable and funny, I could marry him - it will never last.' so glad I was wrong!

it certainly was not love at first sight for fh and myself... all of my previous relationships had been long-term, and i was enjoying my first ever extended period of singledom. i was in the market for my first 'fling' - so when i met fh at a school function and he was cute and smart and young (read: only after one thing-lol), i thought he would fit the role perfectly! we hung out for a couple of months, and our relationship was based (not to be crude or anything) on finding the nearest bed. i mean, there were some cool dates in between, but they weren't the focus...

anyway, we broke it off on amiable terms when i was leaving for my first third-year rotation in new mexico. i invited him as a friend to a party before i left, and we just sat by ourselves in a corner and talked for hours. on our way out of the bar, he just grabbed me and started dancing with me to no music at all. and it was at that drunken, quasi-cheesy moment that i realized that i really LIKED this guy...

the rest is history - we've been together since. so much for the fling

when i told my mom that i was dating a younger man, she made a face and a comment... to which i replied, 'oh, lighten up, mom - it's not like i'm gonna marry the kid'.

thanks... i've always wanted to live out the OC...

After meeting on Match.com and on the first face to face meeting he invited me to Amsterdam with him on a business trip. You can always woo me with travel!

But seriously I guess I knew subconsciously that same night(12 hours later) when we ran into a friend of mine and I introduced him as my future husband. He just grabbed my hand and smiled.

I would like to go on record stating I've loved reading the responses on this thread.
It was NOT love at first sight for FI and I. While we have been friends for many, many years (met performing midnight showings of Rocky Horror) - he actually used to get on my nerves!!
Flash forward a few years, one amazing kiss between us and me blowing him off after he fell for me. Always felt like he was too immature for marriage. Upon my blow off, he met a woman online, married her and took care of her 2 kids (meanwhile she heard from friends about his feelings for me and wouldn't let him speak to me while they were together).
She cheated on him in under a year and the marriage was history. So at a New Years party 01 into 02 - back into my life came my dear old friend. I fell in love with him while he went through his divorce. While watching his strength and compassion for his ex-wife's kids while she conducted herself atrociously. His true persona came out and he won me over by finally kicking aside the notion that he was too immature. He handled himself like a gentleman and rose above every hellish occasion she could put him through.
Plus, no one can make me laugh the way he can!

Thank you. I actually told him about the thread while we ran out for a bit. I asked him if he could answer the question in return. He said it was at the New Year's party when we first ran into each other again. I never pitied him for what he was going through. I was more than willing to still be a friend and help see him through the rough part of his life after he wrote me out of his after one date with the ex. That is when it hit his heart that I was the one meant for him.

well, we met back is HS, i dated his best friend for a minute and then we started hanging out. One night, before we really even starting 'dating' we went into the city to Rockefeller Center and just watched all the ppl and i remember coming home and just plopping down on my parents bed and said 'I'm gonna marry that boy'!
Who woulda thought!!!

well for me it was literally the first day of high school, 1993!! i had known 'of' fh, i was friends w/ his brother for a few years, his cousin and my brother were best friends forever, etc. although i knew of him, i never really gave him any thought. I am sitting on the floor with my best friend, MOH, and he walks by with some friends and my heart just SANK, i got a crazy feeling in my stomach and i said to her, OMG i love him!!!! and i continued to love him all through high school hahahahaah. fast forward to senior year, we FINALLY hang out, and have been together ever since!!!! i believe in soulmates, and i knew i had found mine... it just took him a little longer, and some nerve, to realize it

I asked FH the same thing last night, and he said he knew he was falling the night I sat him down and told him I thought we should just be friends (long story), and he left my place feeling as if he had just been kicked in the stomach... sat up thinking about me all night and felt as if he'd lost his best friend. He'd never felt that way before and knew that he was feeling a lot more than he had orginally realized. What's funny, is that I never knew that. See, one more reason LIW boards are so amazing... they can spark wonderful conversations offline too!
