'Once you are married kindness and love is not the material things bought in a store...It's the backrubs in bed after a long day, and the sound of the kettle whistle when you are stressed'
If your fh write you a beatutiful poem, or created something personal for you, and didnt spend much money for valentines day... would you be happy? Or, would you rather the little blue box?

Re: QOTD2 February 6
I would LOVE it if he didn't spend any money on me. I know I personally love making things for people and putting my blood sweat and tears into things.
For our anniversary, he painted me bambi on a card because I am his 'dear' and I framed it! I can not begin to describe how special I felt that he took his time to sit there and create a card for me. It meant the world.
Some people ont he radio made me so angry. But in all honesty, when you are older and you have kids, HOW MUCH JEWLERY DO YOU NEED? You only have 10 fingers and one neck!

I would love it if he wrote me a poem or made me something. I love personal things. I love that he put effort into doing something special for me. Thats what made his proposal so amazing!
This V-day we are keeping it low key. Just dinner. Putting all our money into the wedding. We hoping to book photo, video, limo and florist the following week, and all those things need a down payment.

Re: QOTD2 February 6
I would prefer that FH would not spend a lot of money on me because we just moved in together and we have a lot of things that we need. I like it when he makes me things because those are the things that I treasure the most. I also love it when he sees something small that reminds him of me and he picks it up! We usually just go out to dinner on Valentines Day because our birthdays are so close to it!

I would be happy as well. We don't have alot of money right now so why waste it on v-day. But I would also be very impressed because he has very little extra time.

We aren't spending much money on V-day this year. I will get him a box of choc and he will get me flowers, and they won't even be on V-day. I am going up to MA the weekend of V-day so I told him to get me the flowers when I get back so they don't die while I am away. We even decided not to go out to dinner, but we're gonna get some lobsters and cook at home. So no, I wouldn't be upset with a poem...but I have a hard time making him understand he even has to buy a card (I didn't get one my first b-day together).

I could give a rat's a$$ about this holiday. I rather FH send me flowers and give me a present when I least expect it then on a Holiday where you are forced to do it. We are just going out to dinner. We are not exchanging this year. Just getting eachother meaningful cards. And, yes- I'd prefer a Poem or a DIY because it comes from the heart. But it would be more meaningful if it wasn't on Valentine's Day.

I'm not one that's big on Vday so that's actually what we have done for the last 2 years. I was actually listening to z100 this AM too and they were saying something about Vday being a made up holiday just so people could spend $$$ I agree with that so in the beginning of our relationship FH & I would buy each other stuff but we're over that!! lol

I agree with you. I wasnt big on it until fh and I started dating...and he makes a big deal...
I also agree, I would rather a present for no reason... I sent him one today from MrsFields as a just because....

Im always happy when fh takes the time to write a poem or something instead of buying me something materialistic.
In the early stages of our relasonship I use to get poems like every other day... it was soooooooo sweet.

Re: QOTD2 February 6
its kind of tradition for us to do a no gift valentine's day. we kind of go crazy for christmas and birthdays, so v-day is left for sentimental cards and a nice dinner in!
